I have been watching adult content since the early 2000s, and here’s what I’ve noticed—it’s very subjective. I think the main studios are struggling and can no longer afford to entice top talent into the industry when those individuals can earn ten times as much on platforms like OnlyFans. In ten years, AI will likely advance to the point where it’s nearly impossible to distinguish between real and AI-generated adult content. Since AI-generated content is cheaper, people will be able to create their own digital adult stars, available 24/7. Those who continue in sex work may be pushed toward extreme niche sites like LP.
Part of the appeal of porn--more than just "part"--has been that it involves real women. No matter how realistic AI looks, the fact that its entirely fake is going to be a huge buzzkill . . .
. . . except, perhaps, to the young. In 2035, anyone 25 and under will have been raised in an almost entirely digital world. Even "real" images have gone through numerous computerized filters or modifications. They may have no inclination to want a "real" person in their smut--they probably won't care if it's a real actor or actress in their mainstream movies.
The funny thing though is that I'm the opposite. I don't think I'll really care if AI takes over the movies--*if* it truly looks & sounds as good as real actors. I respect the skill of acting, but I don't really *appreciate* it. And, honestly, there is so much colossally horrible shit made by Hollywood and such God-awful rubbish actors, that we might be better off.
Porn--as it has existed up until very, very recently--has always involved real sex. Not just real people, but real acts of sex. That's a real dick inside a real twat or asshole. Even if AI eliminates the big porn studios, it won't eliminate OnlyFans because there--**especially** on OF--people are paying the experience of interacting with a real human being. "Interacting." Or they think they are.
In other words, I don't think it's as much the image quality, as it is the knowledge that the image (or video) isn't of real human beings.
