The forum, enough is enough

Hey everyone,

enough is enough, there are too many people here on this forum who are just doing stupid and offensive things all the time and no one seems to care about.

For example Sam Fisher, just ban him forever (we don't need people here who call a black woman a gorilla for example).

Or Vodkazvictim who recently had "No Jews, no problems" and the result is that he got an infraction. That's all? Looks like he can do whatever he wants (normally one should be banned for that).

Yes, it is the intrnet, so you should grow yourself a thicker skin and relax and don't care about the things others are writing.
But sometimes there is a limit and there should be consequences for extreme misbehaviour

At first I just wanted to send this to admin like Petra (she is an admin, right?) as wolverine83 has suggested. But instead I thought more people should here that and should be able to state there opnion on this.

Please freeones team or admins or who ever is able to do that: Take actions and punish this misbehaviour in order to enhance the atmosphere of this board.

If no one wants to do anything against this, then I am making this suggestion: Make me a moderator and I will do my best to bring "peace and harmony" to this board.

And if no cares about that at all and none of those things I mentioned above are possible, then I have one final request for you:
Please ban me from this forum forever, so I will no longer have a reason to come back to this place and have to read so many terrible and unfriendly things
(because it would no longer be fun staying around here)

There's zero chance that you'll be made a moderator and given the freedom to start banning people. That just isn't going to happen. The moderators are volunteers who do the will of the administrators of this site. They follow rules too. A while ago they changed the rules about who gets banned, what threads get closed, and so forth. Some people like the new rules, others don't. It certainly changed the feel of the board, so I'm going to give you the following suggestions to help you cope:

1. as you said, grow a thicker skin.
2. ignore what you don't like. Put the people you don't like on ignore, don't open their thread, don't read what they write. Ta Da! You don't see the things you find offensive.
3. go and find an internet forum that follows the rules you like. There are more than just a few out there. Don't expect FreeOnes to be altered to fit what you like. It just doesn't work like that.


This is all said regardless of my own feelings on the way things are done here. Merely offering friendly advice.

Why should anyone go to the trouble of banning you? If you hate it here so much, hit the road. If you're going to stay, grow some balls.

In terms of the "No Jews, no problems" thing, I doubt Israel is going to crumble because VV got drunk and posted. In terms of Sammy, he's turned over a new leaf, but he's still Sam.

A lot of you newer people really don't have any idea what it used to be like in here. We have gone from one extreme to another, and as usual, the middle got bypassed. That's too bad and I wish it was different, but it's still better than it used to be.

Either suck it up or call the cops on the guy that's pointing the gun at your head and making you log in here.

Of course, we could always have, say, a thread asking for FreeOnes to try and find that middle ground (maybe in the suggestions and comments section, since there is one and it would be a suggestion). You've only really become vocal in the last month or two.

Now you start a thread where you plan to rally the board members around to your way of thinking and potentially dictate terms in what should be acceptable behavior.

Respectfully, who the hell are you to comment on what is and what is not acceptable behavior on a board you have barely contributed to. I'm long time member on the board, hell I'm a retired moderator and I don't give a toss about anything you've commented on.

Are you offended by these topics, the choice of words used, the manner in which board members conduct themselves? If the answer is yes, the follow up question I would ask is, just because you are offended by them, what right do you think that gives you to change them?

Also, most teachers I've known socially have been juvenile alcoholics, so... yeah. I mean, there's exceptions to every rule, but VV seems to be the rule as opposed to said exception.
