Florida officials warn drivers to stop going slow in left lane.
Warnings have sprung up on Interstate 4, Florida’s Turnpike and other major roads telling motorists that if they choose to drive slower than the flow of traffic, they need to avoid the left lanes.
The warnings are displayed on dynamic messaging signs and read: "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT MINIMUM FINE $121." The messaging campaign began Feb. 14 and runs through Saturday, according to Jennifer Horton, public information specialist with FDOT.
The statewide campaign is a continued effort to keep drivers safe and encourage safe use of the roads.
Personally, I'm in favor of summary executions, performed on the shoulder of the road. But I guess this is a start. You know these people. The ones who daddle along in the fast lane, going 65.5 mph as they take 8 miles to pass a car going 65. And then once they execute their all important pass, they hang in the left lane and will speed up to 80 to prevent you from passing them on the right. Yes, you know these people! The emasculated male driving a 4 cylinder minivan. He acts like keeping you behind him is all that stands between him and losing what's left of his manhood. The 4'11" female with penis envy, driving an oversized SUV that she can't see above the steering wheel. And truckers used to be cool people. Now you see the ones who think it's funny to ride beside another big truck for miles and miles. They'll actually pull ahead of the truck they're passing, but keep the back of their truck near the front bumper of the truck in the right lane, so you can't zip around - and the right lane guy will sync with him. Assholes! These 'tards won't move out of the way for a sports car that's clearly just trying to get down the road or even an ambulance with flashing lights. They think it's their job to regulate the flow of traffic. I hate them all. Hopefully the cops in Florida will pass out these $121 tickets like M&M's. We have/had a similar law in my state. But the sorry ass state troopers here generally don't enforce that law.
