Does anyone else find it truly ridiculous how Michael Vick can pull the crap he did and so quickly be allowed to suit up to play again, but Pete Rose is still pending for a Hall of Flame slot because of ********?

Vick's crimes didn't involve the integrity of his sport and were personal crimes.

Rose's crimes involved the integrity of his sport. In an argument for Rose....Vick's case would be apples and oranges. Your beef ought to be with the Manny Ramirez, Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, etc cases.

Precisely. Also, if Rose had admitted to his crimes years before he actually did, then he might have actually had a chance to be reinstated.

Very well stated.

I'd hardly call being imprisoned for two years and suspended until at least the 6th week of the season "quick."

And the OP is obviously a fucking moron when it comes to Pete Rose. There is one baseball rule that is and has been posted in every major league clubhouse, and it concerns betting on baseball games. Rose had to pass this rule every single time he walked through the clubhouse, so every single day of major league career he was aware of this rule, yet he decided for whatever douchey reason, that this rule didn't apply to him, so he broke it.

Not just once.

Thousands of time.

And then he lied about for over 15 years.

Apples and Oranges. Maybe compare Plex to the Mets who were doing ****. But having an ******* firearm and betting on your team are two entirly different things. ******* firearms is I believe a federal offensive. Beatting on baseball is just wrong in the baseball world. Although SOMEONE got over 4,000 hits and should be recongized for what he did as a player, as a manager NO as a player YES indeed.

I have a dog and do not condon what Vick did at all, but he paid price and did his time get over it.

I agree. Also, what about **** use?

They are let back in all the time. Pete Rose should have been in the Hall Of Fame a long time ago.

That was very well put

Plaxico Burress should fire (pun!)his attorney and hire a new one. His sentence is VERY HARSH and borders on "piling on a *********." This is a case where just handing him a big sentence might NOT be in the best interests of society....

Shouldn't we, since he is a privileged athlete, garnish his wages, ban him FOREVER from owning a firearm, and put him on 5 year probation--if he gets a traffic ticket--he goes into the slam. If the City of New York were to garnish his wages (to the tune of $5mil) couldn't they do some *** Awareness campaigns with that money?

What is in society's best interests with Burress?

I don't think it's in the NFL's best interest to allow any team to sign Michael Vick. He hasn't proven any remorse to me or anyone. He served time in jail. Now, he has to prove he's "changed" and not just "handled by PR types"....
