It's my belief (and it's shared, notably, by Oprah. Fuckin' Oprah!) that we can believe things into being, and we run the real risk of Being God, awakening to Itself (like Ghostbusters. Fuckin' Ghostbusters!). I also believe that if there is a God, It doesn't need me to believe in it (like Bill Maher. Just Bill Maher.).

Finally, I believe that the right thing was done: a bullshit and obstructionist, engineered smear attack on a judicial nominee was thwarted, unfortunately, not without collateral damage. That's the Democrat party, for you. The Democrat party cares about itself, and its own enrichment. Not the people of the United States, or anything.
