First a little history for those who aren't familiar. Start in of tent city in 1999.

This Sheriff offered to take Ms. Hilton. Sadly his offer is turned down today.
He said when he speaks of tent city all over the world to other *************** he ironically includes such statements as "This place is no Hilton Hotel." Says he would love to have a Hilton come and check out their amenities. LMAO.

Lets not try to make this totally about Ms. Hilton please. That's not really the meat of the thread. That's why I didn't put it in one of her other threads. That ham is done.
What I'm looking for is a peaceful discussion (please) on how you feel about this mans methods and ideas. I think he has the right idea. Look at the money he cut just by doing away with coffee. He is right, why would anyone need coffee in prison? As long as we make our prisons "comfortable" for criminals many keep coming back. Its a WTF? attitude. The old saying is "three hots and a cot I can do that standing on my head " then it evolved to "free cable TV including pay to view boxing matches and other "extras"" ..." ******** coffee and playing cards all day "... "shooting the **** and ******* time. Oh my, such a hard life.
I say it needs to be run in such a way they don't want to come back. Chain gangs back in place. Take the lower risk ones and put them on local farms, or turn abandoned military bases into farms. So much land going to waste. Let them work and grow food for the poor. Take the pressure off the welfare system some. Give the needy vouchers for fresh food, not cards to buy fast junk food crap at the grocery.
Sorry for rambling. Trust me I could go on and on. So what say you? Does he have the right idea?
