Teen attacked at Whataburger for wearing a MAGA hat

SAN ANTONIO - Police are investigating after a teen says he was verbally attacked and assaulted at a Whataburger for wearing a Make America Great Again hat.

In the video, you can see a man throw a drink in 16-year-old Hunter Richard's face before leaving the restaurant with his hat. Hunter said some of his hair was pulled during the assault.

"I support my President and if you don’t let’s have a conversation about it instead of ripping my hat off. I just think a conversation about politics is more productive for the entire whole rather than taking my hat and yelling subjective words to me," he said.

Hunter was with his friends at the Whataburger off Nacogdoches and Thousand Oaks Tuesday night when it happened. They say the attack was unprovoked.

"I didn’t think it was going to generate the amount like what people are doing, I was looking at the comments by some people and “ they are like this is uncalled for” and other people are like mixed opinions but I didn’t think it would blow up to what it is now," he said.

A police report has been filed.

Even worse than these violent attacks that we're hearing more about (whether from the left or the right) is the fact that some politicians and national leaders are not condemning them, but actually suggesting that this sort of behavior is acceptable. IMO, they're setting a dangerous precedent. See, if it's OK for your side to do it now, it's going to be OK for the other side to do it when the political tide shifts and puts your people in power. If you call them nazis and that "justifies" violence against their supporters now, they can call you communists and that will justify violent acts against your supporters in the future? Let's say that Trump did "start it" (sounds like something that would be said on an elementary school playground). That's the why? Maybe not a justification, but that certainly is a rationalization, and a sad one at that (although I think that is how many see it). But no hand has been dealt. People have free will. If they choose to control their actions, they can (unless they're emotionally handicapped). I don't care if it's from the left or the right. To justify or rationalize any sort of barbarity is just a cop-out. Sorry, but just the way I see it. You know the old saying: two wrongs don't make a right.

Decency no longer exists only if people don't want it to exist. And I think in many of these cases that we read about, they don't. I believe that our society is gradually devolving into mob-like tribes or street gangs, that choose to ignore reason, civility or self-control. I think many of them truly enjoy acting like violent fools. They're not trying to right any wrongs or fix anything. Yeah, for the most part, decency certainly exists in my little corner of the world - same world that you live in. It's just that I don't allow my actions to be dictated by the bad behavior of others, unless they are physically threatening me or mine.

Too bad really. If not for the humans, this would be a nice place to live.

Here's the video of 16 year old Hunter Richard being attacked by 30 year old Kino Jimenez. Kino appears to be a big, healthy fellow. I doubt that he'd yank a hat off someone my size without us movin' some furniture. But against a 16 year old, I guess he felt like he could beat his chest and act big. Sadly, this dumbass's family is being harassed because of what he did. Now that's not right either.

Earlier today, Kino Jiminez was arrested and charged with "theft of a person", the San Antonio Police Department confirmed to Business Insider.
