"Tears of a Clown"--Brett Favre not retiring afterall?

Yup...it sure looks like these are actually tears of happiness that he's finally getting out of Green Bay! Hey PackerFan...it looks like the "Greatest" wants to turn his back on you!

Report: Favre re-thinking retirement

5 hours, 22 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES (TICKER) —Brett Favre could be having second thoughts about retirement.

According to a Los Angeles Times report, the former Green Bay Packers quarterback, who announced his retirement last month, is contemplating a comeback with another team.

Citing NFL sources, the Times reported Thursday that Favre has been quietly talking with teams about their interest in trading for the three-time NFL Most Valuable Player.

On March 4, Favre, who played with the Packers for 16 seasons, announced his retirement during an emotional press conference at Lambeau Field.

However, Favre, 38, has yet to give written notice of his retirement to the league or players’ union.

Favre’s agent, James “Bus” Cook, told the Times he was not aware of his client’s possible interest in resuming his career.:1orglaugh

Turncoat Favre?

Favre was beast of a QB, he needs to go out with what dignity he has left.

dont get me wrong he was one of my favorite players.

Would he just make up his damn mind? He said 2 seasons ago that he was going to retire.

He's getting as bad as Mark Martin from Nascar. Martin has said for the past 3-4 seasons that this was his last year; yet he's still driving, and hasn't retired.

Hahaha, wow! If this eventuates there's going to be some really sore people up in this neck of the woods!

if he was going to continue, why would he go on another team? can't be the money can it?

or it becaus the backup packers QB has been wanting to take over and he doens' want ot step on his toes

No, the backup QB would not "drive" Brett away. Packer Management "might" have told him "if you want to play, seek another team" and Brett's giant ego might've thought that faking his retirement might be the best way to leave the Packers with his "dignity" intact:dunno:

I really don't think there's a contending team out there that would sign him to be starting QB. I can imagine a team like Tampa Bay might want to bring him in...The Dolphins would definitely bring him in hoping he'd fill seats...but the Dolphins are going to stink it up in 2008....The NFC is not as tough as the AFC...I think the Giants are the favorites in the NFC...Chicago has no offense..New Orleans is an unknown X factor...Dallas seems "old" to me and Romo stinks...Green Bay is the best positioned team, I think...he should've tried 1 more year with the Pack....the Redskins will sign him for sure...I bet the Niners would take a look too...

Would the Seahawks bring him in? Mike Holmgren and Favre have a great friendship, right?

Brett Farve STILL mulling it over? I knew it. He had an awesome year (except for the game against the Giants in the playoffs), and indubitably a First Ballot Hall of Famer. But he should go out on a high (again...what a year for him and the Packers), rather than out on a low. People will remember this past year and have fond memories... or he could stand on the sidelines, for some other team, and maybe be called a "once was".
