tattoos itch when they heal...oh btw how is your day going??

So my new Princess Leia tattoo I got last week is starting to heal and peel and omg it itches sooooo bad even when putting ointment on it and im trying sooooo hard not to scratch it...have no idea why I am sharing this but arrrrrggghhh it itchesssss! So...how is everyone elses day going?

are you using some goop for it?

i was given something that was olive oil based with rosemary oil. helped quite a bit. and they say it helps the ink set.

If it's peeling, you're not moisturizing enough. I don't remember any of mine itching, but I'm also a badass. That's not to say that you aren't...

Load that thing up with triple antibiotic ointment....lots of it. Then, in a couple of more days, when you're in the shower, take a soapy washcloth, and wash it, not with long sweeping strokes, but put it over the ink, press, and just move it back and forth a half an inch or so, just enough to re-leave the itch , but not enough to tear it up. but make sure you wait a couple of more days...you wanna make sure it's just about healed. What ever you do....DON'T scratch it, or peel the skin. I have a tattoo, that has a small "glitch", because I scratched it, and popped of a scab.

No its supposed to peel, that means its healing... and im not sure how to post a photo on here??? I think its so itchy because its on my calf and I haven't shaved that area since I got it and the hair is all pokey hahahahha

The plain ol' dietary vitamin E (the kind in the gelcaps) works in a pinch, just get your scissors and cut off an end and squeeze that sticky oily goo all over the affected area, the stuff is a magical antioxidant healer, it also soothes & relieves... for me anyway.

They all itch, doesn't matter where it is, or how big....even if it's a hairless area, it'll itch.

The best part of heeling up a tattoo is when you wash it! OMFG, it's like heaven! Just rub the soap/water on ever so lightly, I swear my leg starts shaking like a dogs.
