We're already banning veils in some parts of Canada. We're number one!

I kind of like the veil a little...nah I take it back, I think women should very much been seen. You'd be surprise how hot Arabic girls are.

Easy to understand for France. The article backs up what I have been saying: "France, home to western Europe's largest Muslim community..."

What it amounts to is that American liberals haven't been exposed to muslims enough to be sick of them yet. Hopefully our liberals will wake up and smell the coffee before we are as over run with these people as France is.

France thought they were very open minded and accepting of diversity too, until the ragheads in France started trying to dictate how other French citizens live their lives. They have probably gotten to the point where enough is more than enough.

Canadians back burka ban, says QMI poll

Canada should ban burkas in public, according to more than half of the people polled exclusively for QMI Agency.

The Leger Marketing online poll found 54% of people surveyed said the government should follow France's lead and not allow women to wear burkas in public for safety and transparency reasons.

You can always count on Canada to discriminate when the Americans fail.

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
Damn americans, we Europeans know that they're soft; the problem is that they are overrun with Moslems, liberal pussies.
There you go guys, how does it feel when the situations turned around and you're on the receiving end of that false accusation?
And yes, I do support the ban on face coverings.

Banned
A survey by the Pew Global Attitudes Project found that an overwhelming 82 percent of French respondents support a ban. The poll found 71 percent support in Germany, 62 percent in Britain and 59 percent in Spain.

In the United States, 28 percent of those questioned said they would approve a ban.

See? Us Yankees ain't as full of shit as you think we are. "Those who would give up Liberty to obtain security deserve neither."

Of course you do. Others wait patiently for California to fall into the sea, I await tectonic shifts that will send Canada back to Europe where they belong. Now shut-uip and go club a seal.

Nope. Europeans think women's rights are more important than crazy bullshit religion. Silly, isn't it?

What about the rights of those women who by personal choice want to wear a veil? In some cases, male family members of such women oppose veil.

Banning the burka isn't going to free the so called oppressed women. All this is going to do is seclude the women who wear one (by choice or force) from society because now they won't leave the house. But out of sight out of mind right?

Hiliary 2020
The government has insisted that the bill is not about religion but has called it a way to promote equality between the sexes, to protect oppressed women or to ensure security in public places.

not good enough for me.
if your gonna open your borders to thousands or even millions of foriegners then theyre gonna bring the culture among other things with them, and you'd better expect some changes in your country while its still your country.
who knows in twenty years when they have the power there they might start telling the frenchys that they must wear burkas.
a gov cant start telling people how to dress.
no way no how.

Let's refrain from that sort of racist language please.

Exactly. You don't free women from oppression by criminalising them.
& I fail to see how you combat a tradition that tells women what they can & cannot wear by passing a law that tells women what they can & cannot wear.

Exactly

The thing is veils are not baned everywhere. They are banned in public places such as schoo, City Hall, Police Station, etc..l

France is a very secular country. You're free to have any religion. But you musn't show off about it in public buildings. In fact, french law already bans ostentatious signs of religion.
