Good morning, all. I thought I would share some recent goings-on in my life which can then dovetail into larger discussion here on the forum.
My *******-in-law recently shared with me the following story. He was scheduled to start a shift at work at 7PM one night and decided to go out to dinner with his wife / my ****** beforehand. They went to their favorite Sushi restaurant which had just re-opened after the city shut them down due to a substandard grade on a health inspection. Later in the evening, he became violently ill and had to leave work early. He feels the most likely explanation for this turn of events is that he was poisoned by the Trump supporters at his place of employment. He can think of no other reasonable explanation for why he would suddenly find himself in such a state of gastrointestinal distress.
On the other side of the coin, I have an aunt who is a vocal Trump supporter. During the course of the Presidential campaign, she made three separate donations to Mr. Trump in the amount of $999.99. When asked why she picked that amount, she explained that, on contributions exceeding $1000, the campaigns must provide identifying information of the individual making the donation to the Federal Elections Commission. My aunt stated she feared retribution, in the event of a Hillary victory, should the government have her on record as having contributed to Trump's campaign (an act which she proudly announced the performance of on Facebook anyway).
This got me thinking 'Why not have a thread on the forum in which we share some of the wacky stories about how friends and relatives are navigating our current political climate'. Let's have this be lighthearted and fun. Also, to whatever extent possible, try to be even-handed and share some stories of crazy people from your own side. Remember, neither political ideology has the market cornered on mental illness and paranoid delusion.
