Michael Sam being drafted

Jeter's last game and performance

Ray Rice fiasco

Sadly, only one really has anything to do with sports

Plus the Spurs at AT&T arena purposely shutting down the AC in the NBA finals game 2 causing LeBron James to cramp up dehydrated from lack of fluids needed from roids use.

I voted for 'The new BCS playoffs.'

I'm not sure of which to chose, the two initial sports moments which came to mind in my case were first the bite at the world cup and Jeter's retirement....

I have no idea what any of these things are, is this exclusively U.S sports?

If I had to pick a single football story from 2014, much as I enjoyed the Champions League final (in my old Beckham 23 shirt, as it happens), I'd have taken a montage of every shot of the utter desolation on the Brazil players faces, as the mighty Germans picked them apart again and again.

And again.
And again.
And again.
And AGAIN.

The only thing from that list i have even heard of is the "UEFA all Spain Championship" (i guessing that what you really mean is the UEFA Champions League final between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid).

The biggest news story in sport 2014 is by far Germany´s 7-1 win over Brazil in the World Cup semi-final.

I thought the most exciting game I saw this year was a womens hockey game... the USA versus Canada game in the Olympics. The Canadians were down 2-0, then scored... then they pulled their goalie... the Americans actually hit the post on the empty net after clearing the length of the ice... the Canadians roar back to tie the game and eventually win in overtime. It was an unbelievable turn of events. Plus it's the only meaningful game they play for four years.

The Brazil vs Germany game was THE sport moment of 2014, no contest. This was the one game every one talked about after it happened, all over the world

As a french, I would choose Renaud Lavillenie beating Sergey Bubka's 21 years old pole vault record, in Bubka's home city, under Bubka's very eyes

Is somewhere outhere.
None of those options for me. As the Commonwealth games being held in Scotland was a great spectacle, and probably the best I will ever see in my lifetime.
