small problem...suggestions from anyone?

I know this may sound a little stupid but.....I'm going to say it here anyway. I've got nothing to lose and maybe you guys will have some great ideas. I have recently relocated back to my birthplace of NYC, the last time I lived here was when I was in HS, and that was 17 years ago. Problem is, I don't really know anyone except the people I work with and they all have their own lives and whatnot.

Any suggestions of how and where to get out and meet people and whatnot?

I feel sort of lost
