Stop saying this. It's up to a poster's discretion whether they do this or not.
Of course it is, I am absolutely not forcing anybody. The poster is asking for an ID, it is up to me to whether I do it or not. In exactly the same way I am asking for a like for a valuable post in return, it is up to the poster whether we does it or not. Some don't and I don't complain about it. :) Anyway, to ID the girls takes some time and effort, is it really that bad to ask for something teeny-tiny back without forcing the other one?

There's no reason for asking for it. Everyone here is aware of forum etiquette when it comes to answering a request. So stop it.

Well this is simply not true. When I was not reminding the posters that they could give a like, only 4 out of 13 posters said thanks / gave a like. And I am definitely not blaming them, half of the posters were on the forum relatively new so I am not surprised they don't know the forum's etiquette. So I would dispute that claim of yours. I know that 13 is a small sample size, but if you go through the other threads in the Identify / Name the Babe section, you will see basically the same.

Coincidentally yesterday I got another recommendation from a different moderator: That I could put this request in my signature instead so that I don't have to repeat this message. But the signature feature is still locked for me, I cannot use it, and the moderator said it's okay then. Once I can use signatures, I will go with this advice.

Indeed, but that was also another way of saying stop posting the same thing as well.

I agree with the sentiment about people showing gratitude but you are only bothered about this because you want to send a DM and are going to these lengths to achieve it.

So, presumably - as soon as you get what you want out of this (the ability to send DMs), you will stop what you are doing and no longer request likes because you will no longer need them.

This is something that is supposed to come naturally but you are trying to force the issue. Maybe the secret algorithm takes this into account. ;)

Look, I didn't tell you to stop doing this so we could end up in the middle of a tedious debate about forum etiquette. I told you to stop doing it because it's up to the poster's discretion whether they choose to thank you or not. This forum's stance has ALWAYS been that a thank you in text form or emoji is recommended but not compulsory. You and nobody else needs to nudge people in the ribs on this subject.

On a similar note, there's no reason to mention it in your signature either. This discussion is over!
