But doesn't the U.S. Capitol Building have armed police/security?

That would be your "good guy with a gun."

A guy interrupts a school board meeting and tells them he's going to die today. Then when they fail to talk him down he starts to open fire.

They were about to be murdered one by one by this guy until someone with a gun shows up.

If you're ok with being in a situation like that, totally helpless. That's you.

But what about our 2nd amendment right to bear arms, especially to oppose the tyranny of an out of control government? Surely the founders meant no restrictions on this right, and what better place to oppose tyranny than the capitol itself. This way if your representative in government becomes tyrannical you can just shoot the rep then, and there. Where is the NRA on this vital infringement of the our liberties!!! /end sarcasm

that wasn't his argument.

If guns make places safer, why aren't they allowed in the U.S Capitol then?

But guns keep us safe from the tyranny of the government!

There are restrictions on where you can bring firearms. What a stupid point you're trying to make as well as how you're going about it.
I have to pass through a metal detector going into a federal courthouse. I can't bring a firearm onto a plane.

We also have freedom of speech but we can't <cliche>yell "Fire!" in a crowded theater.</cliche>

Yet whenever any new restriction or background check is mentioned the NRA screams "VIOLATING THE 2ND AMENDMENT!" By that logic banning firearms from anywhere is a direct violation of the 2nd amendment. Remember more people with more guns is the only way to be safe! If that applies to elementary schools it applies here as well.

These gun things are dangerous and seem to have a mind of their own. Maybe Secret Service should rid themselves of those awful things because the President's life could be at risk.

YES

And let the people visiting the White House bear assault rifles

That is one theory on the fatal shot that killed JFK. SS agent with M16 discharged weapon accidentally trying to jump on accelerating limo. (Makes more sense as to Secret Services cover up IE violating protocol on evidence, reports, etc.)
