share experience about V.O.D.

Hello people;

I saw in some online DVD stores where i purchase my movies that is a secction call VOD. they give you some choices like rent and download. I want to know, if you download the movie they say that you have like 30 days to watch it. I dont want to throw money away so I never try to download any of that. What happend to the file, its autodeleted after the period time?, gets locked?, or something else?, tell me if any of you have download any movie in that term and how that works.

All the help you can share its going to be fantastic.
