Torn & Frayed.
First off,I'm pretty sure this is in the wrong section, but I'm looking for a quick payoff, and this board is so busy, this is the best place to be.If it's in the wrong place,my apologies-and yes I tried a search.
For reasons that are pure necessity,I recently got HughesNet,and I'm having an issue. The issue is this: It supposed to be at least as fast as DSL,but right now,it's slower than dial-up.
I have a feeling that it's got something to do with the fact that I'm using Linux, as opposed to Windows.I think that there's some type of setting that needs to be changed,or an add-on uh, added.
When the satellite equipment was initially installed,my computer wasn't even here, but everything checked out fine when the tech tested it. (He had a laptop).
Anyone have any ideas?
I realize that probably no one here has either Linux or HughesNet,but the truth of the matter is this one of the only sites I can access,so I figure I'll improve my odds by posting this exact post on all three boards that I can access.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, but I at least want to thank you for reading this.
