Rugby (World Cup, 6 Nations, Tri-Nations, Heineken Cup, Amlin Cup, etc...)

Next autumn, the 7th Rugby World Cup will take place in New Zealand.
This evening (europe time) the Six Nations Championship will start.
So I think it's the perfect time to start a Rugby discussion.

I'm gonna start it with a reminder of the major fixtures of the season.

02.04.11 : Wales - England, 2011 Six Nations Championship opening game
03.19.11 : 2011 Six Nations Championship closing games (Scotland - Italy, Ireland - England, France - Wales)
05.21.11 : Heineken Cup Final
05.28.11 : Premiership Final
05.29.11 : Celtic League Final
06.04.11 : Top 14 Final
07.09.11 : Super-15 Final
09.09.11 : New Zealand - Tonga, 2011 Rugby World Cup opening game
10.03.11 : Rugby World Cup Final

To those who don't know Rugby very well :
Six Nations Championship : Annual league between the 6 very best europe national teams : England, France, Ireland, Wales, Scotland, Italy.
Heineken Cup : Sort of "Champion's League" equivalent, for Rugby.
Premiership : English league
Celtic League : League made of the best teams from Wales, Scotland and Ireland.
Top 14 : French league
Super 15 : League made of the very best teams from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa

6 Nations, day 1 :
Wales 19-26 England

Tomorrow, the two other games from day 1 :
Italy - Ireland
France - Scotland

Why save the world, when you can rule it?
Football fans take note: This is what a real sport looks like.
You'll find none of those faux injuries and vastly overpaid salaries here.

I'm watching some specialist videos
Great game yesterday. England hung on well whilst down to 14 men at the end of the 1st half. I think that this is going to be a 6 nations worthwhile watching, especially as Italy have been improving rapidly over the years.

Looking forward to the 6 nations, good start for England, but i still think France will win it
I hope you're right but I'm not very sure, particulary after last autumn terrible test-match...

Rugby has a higher profile in the last 10 years. Is there a worthwhile German league?
No.

Germany is a minor nation. The German Rugby Federation only has 11.000 members (more than 500.000 in the French Rugby Federation), Germany finished last in the final Europe qualifying round for the World Cup (France, Italy, Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland didn't participate to these qualifications, they were automaticaly qualified due to their results in the previous World Cup).

Sooner in the afteroon, Ireland won against Italy, in Rome : Italy 19-26 Ireland

The Eastenders can be reschedule, the rugby games can't...
