RIP Mike Wallace 1918-2012

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
wonder if God is nervous. cuz you know Mike thinks god has some explaining to do. Especially that whole platypus thing.

A mammal? that lays eggs? And there were no herbs involved? You expect me to accept that at face value?

First Andy Rooney, now Mike Wallace. Damn.

R.I.P. Mike :hatsoff:

You know I'm officially tired. When I 1st saw this I was thinking Rusty Wallace (and I'm not even into racing) & I was thinking, no way, he wasn't that old. Then I looked again and thought the guy from 60 Minutes, dismissed it for a split second and thought the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver, then it fully processed.

I always enjoyed Mike on 60 Minutes (though I'm sure many of the people he exposed wouldn't share that sentiment), and he'll definitely be missed. Maybe as tribute to his ******, Chris will leave his current employer and he'll go somewhere where he can be a real journalist. lol

But seriously, I don't know why it's so shocking when a man in his 90's dies, but it is damn it! R.I.P. Mike Wallace, you will be missed.

When I'm watching 60 Minutes tonight, I'll probably shed a tear or two. I hope it's not too late for them to add a memorial at the end of the program.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Damn....I would like to have seen 1/10th, of the stuff this guy has seen. Can you imagine the life experiences this guy has had in his lifetime?

As morbid as it sounds, I'm sure they had something put together wayyyyyy before he died. He was in his 90's, and that's what the media does, especially for those who are clearly likely to die sooner rather than later. I guarantee they will have a tribute of some sort.

Just found out earlier today. RIP, 93 years is a good run

I'm sure there was something because I was watching the CBS show Sunday Morning and they annouced it then. They had a small tribute to him. The one thing I did not know was he was the intro to The Green Hornet when it was a radio show. I would guess that next week will be the big tribute for him with his greatest interviews like they did for Andy Rooney. Mike was ill for several years. I would also add that most reporters that venture into dangerous areas as well as war corresponders would probaly have a small obit started already.

I have no doubt you're right. Unfortunately, I didn't even get to see if they did run something tonight (or see the show at all) because of fucking golf on television.

Very sad news, a lot of great journalists are just dropping like flies :(
