RIP Hugh Hefner

In high school, all my friends had girlfriends. I had my Playboy Magazines.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
The man gave the world A LOT of beautiful women. He launched the careers of many. Rest in peace.

I think Hef knew his time was short. He wanted the mansion sold, his public appearances dwindled down, etc. He'll likely be remembered most for the pictorials in the magazine - but he did so much more. The number of writers who wrote short stories, or provided book excerpts. The candid interviews, where no subject was taboo. The advice columnists. And the PUBLIC discussion of sex, pleasure, LGBT, etc. *HE* was the man who brought sex out in the open / beyond the bedroom. Rest in peace, Hef.

P.S. Thanks for publishing your magazine. I remember finding my uncle's stash of them, while visiting in my mid teens. I think it was Diane Parkinson, of the Price is Right, did a pictorial. Such huge nipples! I remember looking at the pictures, and my penis feeling like it was rocket ship. You could take my heartbeat from it!

A true legend and imo the father of modern-day porn, "Hef" made nudity, particularly of exceptionally beautiful women, mainstream.
I can honestly say his life has made my life more enjoyable!
RIP, my friend.

Just heard the news about the passing of Hugh Hefner
A legend who believed in Free Expression and celebrated it .
Founder of Playboy Enterprises Inc and its famous magazine which helped wash away moral restrictions which bond people to tradition.
"Blessed art thou among Women" also springs to mind . Rest In Peace

Hugh Hefner Dead at 91

This website and every other porn site in creation should lower their collective hard-ons to half-mast in remembrance of the man who broke the barrier for all of them (and us!). May you rest in peace, Hef. To say you were a pioneer is an understatement of the highest magnitude. :hatsoff:

Hugh Hefner, who created Playboy magazine and spun it into a media and entertainment-industry giant — all the while, as its very public avatar, squiring attractive young women (and sometimes marrying them) well into his 80s — died on Wednesday at his home, the Playboy Mansion, in the Holmby Hills area of Los Angeles. He was 91.

His death was announced by Playboy Enterprises.
