Aiding and abetting criminals
On Monday, liberal state representative [NOBABE]Michelle DuBois[/NOBABE] took to her social media to warn local illegal immigrants that an immigration raid was imminent in their community. I’m not a lawyer but this strikes me as an act that helps others commit a crime while also assisting them in avoiding capture by authorities. In fact, it kind of seems like the very definition of “aiding and abetting.”
Aiding and abetting is a legal doctrine related to the guilt of someone who aids or abets in the commission of a crime. It exists in a number of different countries and generally allows a court to pronounce someone guilty for aiding and abetting in a crime even if they are not the principal offender.
