Replayable Games

For those of you (us) who enjoy playing games on the computer (or other platforms)...what games do you like to take off the shelf, load up and play every once in a while?

I just finished playing the Diablo games. I'll install them and play them every year or so.

Other games I do that with are Masters of Orion 2, Civilization 3, and Lords of Magic.

My wife has the old Kyrandia games, and she will do the same thing. About once every year or two she will load up all 3 games and spend a week playing them all.

On the flip side...are there games that once you've played them, you never play them again? Maybe you tried and they bored you the second time around? I recently did that with Baldur's Gate. I played it for about 30 minutes and uninstalled it because I just couldn't get into it.

Lastly, is there a game you may have played years ago, and since got rid of it, or gave it away, but now you wish you had it because you would love to play it again? A couple game that I wish I had to play again are...
The Summoning
Veil of Darkness
Ravenloft: Strahd's Possession
The first Gabriel Knight

One game I love playing endlessly (but I don't know if this would count as "replay") is any of the GTA games. Because they are open-world games I usually spend hours in them doing various things. I did play GTA 3 twice though now that I think of it.

Silent Hill 2 I played twice...Silent Hill 3 as well.

God Of War is another one that deserves a replay.

Crusader: No Remorse and Crusader: No Regret

Street Fighter

Command And Conquer Red Alert 2

Any of the Call of Duty series :)

Battlefield Vietnam

Close Combat III: The Russian Front

Starcraft: Brood Wars

cheers,

Baldurs Gate II is a game I've returned to several times. It's such a great game. I'll have to start it up again some time, but for now there are just too many others things for me to do, and other games I'd rather play.

I played Diablo II a lot several years ago. Played through the regular game with several different characters, and also played through the first two difficult levels once. Sadly I've just played it too much, so there's not much fun in it for me anymore.

Actually I don't think that I've had all that much luck with bringi9ng out the old PC games. It's like I have great memories of playing them, but when I try them again and compare them to what I've played recently, they just aren't that much fun.
Even games like StarCraft and WarCraft really seemed old when I tried them again.

Then there was Fallout 2. Great game, but horrible graphics and countless bugs. I had a lot of fun with it the first time, but later on all it's flaws were just too obvious and annoying. I've had more fun re¨playing Fallout Tactics. I keep hoping for a new Fallout game with an awesome story and modern graphics, as well as some gameplay elements from Tactics.

I've been meaning to try Dungeon Keeper II again since I don't think that I ever finished it, but I doubt that I would really enjoy it.

knows petras secret: she farted.
replayable? the zelda series. theres always bonuses to do after you flip it. windwaker, ocarina, even the first one.

street fighter is always replayable any time.

mario kart is always fun. no matter how many times you win.

personally, i get nostalgic and play my nes. those games are always great.

I'm not much of a fan of the old NES and SNES games anymore, but I wouldn't mind trying a game like Mario Cart again. I'll probably become bored with it quickly, but it was such a fun game back in those days.

I also played Zelda, but I wasn't all that big a fan of it. Good game and all, but there were better around.

I just played "Neverwinter Nights" for the 3rd time. I like to get out the Classics like "Baldurs Gate I & II" or "Eye of the Beholder" from time to time.

Hehe, I had Eye of the Beholder for the SNES. I thought it was horrible, but I played it anyway because I love D&D games. :D
I also played Neverwineter Nights. I thought it was okay, but not great. I've read that the best part of it and the reason why it's so replayable, is the way you can download and play mods, as well as play with others online. I never did any of that and grew pretty tired of it.

EOB is a classic on PC. I don't know the SNES Version.
Yeah, NWN is best played with the Add-ons "Shadows of Unrentide" and "Hordes of the Underdark". And there are are a lot of fantastic Mods on the net.
Still, I'm waiting for Baldurs Gate III... :o

I want to install Baldur's gate 2 but I can't finish the first game. It's just monotonous, the script isn't very mature. I'm sure the 2nd one is better from what I've heard but so far I can't even remove the packaging....

I still play Excitebike, mario bros. 1, 2, and 3 once in awhile!
My all time favs!

Leisure Suit Larry:Magna Cum Laude keeps you coming back cause its funny as hell, plus the chicks are hot and naked

It's an old game, but an awesome one: Deus Ex
you can play the game quite differently every time!

About replayable games:

Civilization, every edition; Master of Orion, every edition; System Shock 2; Operation Flashpoint; SWAT 3, 4; Heroes of Might ang Magic, every edition; Sims 1-2; SimCity, every edition; Flanker 2.0; Combat Mission, every edition; C&C series; Deus Ex.

These are the games, in my opinion, are the replayable games, and each time you can have a totally different gameplay experience.

IMO, Civilization 3 is the greatest game ever. I have played it many nights since it was released. Also loved Alpha Centauri, StarCraft, Quake, Doom and Diablo II.

I've been playing all three Guild Wars campaigns: Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall.

I just bought the entire Command & Conquer series as well as the Medal of Honor series this past weekend.

The Sims games are always decent; ditto for the multitude of 'Tycoon' games, too.
