No. And let's not introduce this into law. Parents already have day care providers that they use. They also pay them to take care of their children. Let them qualify for the dependent care credit at the end of the year.

Ignoring the fact that talking specifically about moms excludes dads from the conversation, in Australia we have the family tax benefit scheme, where the government kicks you a bit of money to help out with kids. The amount depends on your income and number of kids. It's not huge, I think we get about $230/fortnight. But that's the socialist dystopia that is Australia, it could never work in America because reasons.
I don't think tossing around arbitrary numbers like $2400 helps the conversation. The article says it would be "means tested" but doesn't really elaborate. If I still lived in the states I'd be all for some of my tax dollars going to help feed and clothe and educate low-income kids who probably only exist because every planned parenthood clinic within a thousand miles was shut down. Better that than a new mahogany desk for some senator's office.

Insanity is right. I can only guess at the cycle which would occur. The graft from this program would be enormous.
