R.I.P Jeff Hanneman :(

Sucks. I never quite got into Slayer as much as I felt I should but my teenage years were dominated by thrash.

I'm so bummed out by this. I actually found out via Twitter. Both, 'Jeff Hanneman' and 'Slayer' were, and maybe still is, trending worldwide - which made me glad to see. Lack of mainstream support doesn't keep them down. This is, after all, Metal.
Slayer, along with Pantera and Anthrax, were my most-listened-to bands in the 90's, and I got to see Slayer live a few times. Always had a great time. To put it mildly, it was never a weak show.
One of the forefathers of Thrash Metal, and much Metal to follow. Too often overshadowed by co-guitarist Kerry King. While King usually rode on his wah-wah pedal, Hanneman had more versatility with more finger work on the fret board.

Seasons in the Abyss was the first album I heard by them, and it's still my favorite, despite my love for their other albums.

Jeff Hanneman's solo at 4:28

(copied and pasted my comment from YouTube)

Satan: "Hey God, check out the amazing shredding my son does on guitar!"

God: "Shit, that ain't nothin'. Be right back....(calls Jeff Hanneman)....Now check THIS out!!"

GOD LISTENS TO SLAYER!!

This fucking sucks so bad. He wrote the best songs in the history of thrash, without question. RIP Jeff.

Rest in pieces, Jeff. :banger:

Always hate this kind of news when bands I love to see/hear live pass away as time goes, especially at young age of 49.

RIP Jeff
