I like all of your replies. Are they really cool with people coming up and asking for pictures or signatures? And what if it happens to be a case of mistaken identity? I don't really want to be slapped, thrown out of the store, or arrested if someone was offended.
Oh, you mean like Mary Carey getting mistaken for Mariah Carey. They kind of look similar and even names are close enough. I think she didn't mind too much judging from the video, but You Might want to ask separately how pornstars feel when their "fans" don't even get their name right at porn conventions...

I wouldn't do anything. I'm guessing she might not care for the world to know who she is, and considering the world is full of whack jobs, the last thing I would want her to think, is she was in danger. While I am not of the opinion that a girls is a whore, just because she's in the adult industry, not all guys think that way. I remember watching a Buttman movie years ago, and he had a guest from England, named Ben Dover, who did the British version of what he did, and the scene was set up, like Ben was lurking, as a fan, then got caught, and was shown the proper way to film butts. A the end of the scene, Buttman mentions how many people really have no idea that all of the stuff he does, is set up. He mentions how people just have knocked on his door, or peeped over the fence, thinking they'll just walk into a scene, and fuck a porn star. He also mentions how people have written to him, asking what they did wrong....having made the effort to buy a video camera, and filmed girls asses, and couldn't understand why they wouldn't start flashing, and playing with themselves. So yeah, I wouldn't do much, unless maybe it was an event in which they were there for the reason of meeting fans.
revidffum I see your point although if it was a famous actress I would still want to say hi and would not be as concerned about mistaken identities or offending someone. I guess it comes down to whether or not I would be embarrassed by someone slapping me. Maybe I should become Marv

I would have approached her, being very respectful and tell her i'm a fan. If the opportunity for a pic or them signing something I would ask. If not just go on with my day and be happy least i got to say hi.

An actress is different, Your original post gave me the impression you were speaking about an adult performer. If it were a mainstream actress, I would just politely acknowledge my appreciation for her work, and if it was comedy, thank her for the laughs. If it was Katey Sagal, from Sons Of Anarchy, I would tell her how amazed I was, at the transformation from Peg Bundy, to Gemma Marrow.
It was originally about adult performers but then it kind of went in to whether or not the person would be embarrassed for being identified as a porn star and how that might be handle. My comment about the actress was merely saying that I would not have this question if it was an actress because for the most part to identified as a actress would not be embarrassing for someone.

I suspect some will be more up for it than others just in general, and it will also depend on their mood at the time and if they're just looking to get something real quick and get out, so the best time may be waiting in line to get checked out. But if you're nice to the girl, are respectful, and just politely say to her that she looks familiar, and ask is her name whatever (as long as it's not a "porn name," and if it is, pretend to have difficulty remembering the name to let her fill in the blank), how could she have a problem with that? And if it turns out she's not, you have an in to ask her out and potentially date a girl who looks like a porn star.
