All right. I asked this once before a long time ago in a PM to Petra and got no answer. Now I'm going to ask it again here.
What does the FreeOnes team think if I would publish simple Premium Link Upgrade (JavaScript) scripts that are intended to make keeping bookmarks in a better order? There are various aspects in several sample gallery links that will easily cause duplicate bookmarks or simply cause the link with same contents to be re-posted over and over in a thread. For example, galleries from stackedmamas have this structure:
Premium Link Upgrade
That last number can be changed without changing the actual contents of the gallery in any way. Only the layout and header pictures in the gallery will change. The exact same pictures will be displayed with p2-1.php throughout p2-6.php. This will make any unsuspecting porn hoarder to make a maximum of 5 duplicate bookmarks of the same gallery without realizing it (or re-posting it to the forum for thinking that it's a new gallery, when it isn't). If you are in the habit of also tagging your bookmarks with relevant keywords, this will probably result in inconsistent tags throughout those duplicate bookmarks. Cleaning these up manually is a royal pain in the ass, especially when you have a lot of bookmarks (I have somewhere around 15000). The duplicate removal extensions that I know of can't clean up these sorts of duplicates since these sorts of things are very much site-specific (so the scripts to deal with them must also be site-specific).
I know of an external site where I could host these, but that's likely to be ****** from here since there are scripts there that deal with various tube sites. So, I would ideally just post the actual code to a thread here. Hardly ideal, since then it would be somewhat irritating to keep it updated. Hmm.. making one thread per one specific script would work though, since the last post with the script code would always have the most up-to-date version. I'm using these in Firefox, but I believe that these scripts could also be used in Opera or any other browser that allows similar customized scripting with minimal modifications.
Of course, probably very few members in the forum would have any sort of interest or ability to use these in the first place. It's not complicated, but I don't generally expect too much of anyone's computer abilities who don't actually do it for a living.
So what is your opinion of this, FreeOnes team members? Do you think that the exploit potential for allowing these sorts of scripts to be published here is simply too big for allowing me to do it or can I go ahead with this?
