I don't know how many people on this use their same username on other forums or as their "virtual identity". I generally use the same name... it's easier to remember and there's an element of name recognition for people that know you from other forums.
HOWEVER... have any of you ever searched your username on Google... and narrowing it down a little more done an advanced search using a specific domain?
I just did it for this forum (and specific domains of other forums) and found myself on here. Might not seem like a big concern to some people but if you have your real name connected to that username then anyone who, say, is looking into your background for a job, a security clearance, etc. well, you probably begin to see the problem this could create.
So I'm wondering why this forum, that you need to be a member of to post into, is open to anyone to view... especially considering the potential problems it could create for people who didn't realize this up until now.
