Places To Live In California?

I was just curious if anyone here lived in California and if they would recommend it to others.

I currently live at home and work a good paying job. I am also running a small business on the side. So living at home is allowing me to save a lot of my money. In a couple more years I'll have enough banked to put a huge down payment on a home. I currently live in New Jersey but would never buy real estate here. The property taxes are ******. So I was looking at Arizona but California is catching my interest.

Would anyone recommend California? Which parts? Or is California bad news?
