Just caught this one.
Here in Britain they are going to make anyone wanting a passport take a face to face interview. That will come to around 600,000 interviews a year.
Is it me or is this just getting out of hand. First it costs you somewhere around 200 pound sterling to get a passport. Just so you can leave or re-enter your country. This is even before the cost of whatever trip it is your taking.
I can understand having to prove who you are. I also understand the need for tightening security on it. But does it really take a meeting with a complete stranger who at the end of the meeting will still not be able to tell if you are the person your say your are or not. After all you've only got to prove your the person they have on the paper in front of them. Or are they going to ask for dna or finger prints to prove it.
To me these will be more money ******.
Or just big ******* wanting to pry into your private life even more!
