I ran into a box full of old yearbooks that I had saved over the years just recently. Needless to say, I not only reminisced on the people I hadn't seen for years, but also the fashion trends on display back then.
Looking back, which fashion trends do you miss most???
I'll give you my top 3:
1: High-top fades: An absolute must for anyone wanting to be fresh in the mid to late 80's. Especially big for white guys wanting to separate themselves from the 80's hair metal scene (*see Vanilla Ice/NKOTB). You level of flyness/freshness/dopeness was dependent on the execution of your cut.
2: Starter Jackets: Ooooooh... I wanted one of these sooooo damn bad back in the day. There was nothing more official in sportswear than Starter. They came in every team in every major sport, and costed (buckle up, folks) $100!!!!!. Starter was definetly the Gucci of sportswear.
3: Big-ass 80's hair: Especially on the ladies... big hair was super sexy!!! Spiral perms, spiked, poodle cuts, tidal wave bangs... you name the style, there was a hot chick with one. Every cute girl in the 80's had the big institutional size cans of Aqua Net and mousse in fron of their mirror right next to the banana clips.
... and nobody in the 80's was more iconic for unspeakably sexy and big hair than Ms. Kelly LeBrock.
Early 90's big hair was not as dramatic, but still hot... as witnessed here:
