Option to sort posts newest to oldest by default desperately needed

The old board had it, I always used it, is this in the feature queue or is it impossible with the new board software?

I find it completely pointless to open a 10-year old and have it default to post number 1 full of links that don't work anymore. All this layout does is make me scroll a lot for no reason. "Jump to New" is a very poor solution and would not be needed if newest was on top. Threads full of embedded images screw up the current scheme as the board can't calculate properly where to put me in a thread. This would also not be an issue if the newest post was on top.

When I open a thread, the only relevant thing to me is the latest post and that should be on the top, period. Other than this one huge annoyance, I have no real complaints with the rest of the board upgrade.

Yes -- totally agree. The inability to sort latest-oldest is eally annoying

Any word on this? Is it in the pipeline of upgrades or is it never coming?

Okay guys, no excuses now. I did some searching on my own and found that XenForo has an option to do this. I looked though this thread:
