But that was the city the Movie 'Footloose' (1984) was based on. There was the ban on dancing.
And because Germany is under the foot of the churches in many ways, dancing on that day can get you arrested. Every disco, night club etc. must stop playing music at midnight and asking the customers to quit dancing until when friday turns to saturday.
I find it really amusing when politician criticise islamic countries for imposing religious bullshit on their people, yet things like these are absolutely fine.
Oh, and of course, we, all taxpayer have to cough up the salary for all trhe bishops and so on. Not that the churches cough it up themselves.
