Obama demands Congress pass law denying Second Amendment rights

Like a myna bird or a broken record that repeats the same thing over and over again, President Obama can't stop talking about taking away your Second Amendment rights. But would-be tyrants tend to do that, we suppose.

Anyway, as he promised he would, the president is continuing to politicize gun tragedies, this time in response to a recent shooting in Colorado, in which a crazed loner who lived off the grid and has a history of violence, shot and killed three people while wounding nine others.

"This is not normal. We can't let it become normal," Obama said. "If we truly care about this ... then we have to do something about the easy accessibility of weapons of war on our streets to people who have no business wielding them. Period. Enough is enough."

Of course, the shooter – Robert Dear – did not have a "weapon of war." He had a semi-automatic rifle that resembles one. And while some may argue that is just semantics, as someone who has actually fought in a war (unlike Obama), I know the differences between such weapons, and they are substantial. After all, Obama and the Democrats are lecturing the rest of us to "be honest" about this gun debate, and yet they're the first ones not to be honest.

Watch lists
As for Obama, he didn't stop there. He went on to demand – demand, mind you – that Congress pass legislation before the holidays tightening up gun laws ostensibly aimed at persons with "mental health issues." And of course, who would get to decide what constitutes a "mental health issue?" That's right – Big Government.

"If the U.S. Government has determined that it is too dangerous for you to board a plane then you shouldn't be able to buy a gun," White House spokesman Josh Earnest said a day after the Colorado Springs shooting. "Congress should pass this law before leaving for the Holidays," Breitbart reported.

Coming from a guy who is protected 24/7/365 from threats, just like his boss, that's a pretty bold statement. What's also ironic is that Earnest insists "the government" is competent enough to make such decisions about who gets to fly and who doesn't – even when it's demonstrated otherwise.

So what happens when you get put on a government "list?" Easy – your rights disappear, and what's more, there is no process for taking them away. They just vanish.

Consider the case of Gulet Mohamed, a 21-year-old U.S. citizen from Alexandria, Virginia. According to Mint Press News, "Mohamed "discovered he was on a watch list in 2011, when he was told he would not be allowed to travel back to the United States after a trip to Yemen and Somalia — his country of origin. Mohamed was never charged with a terror-related offense or any other crime, which is why he is fighting his inclusion on the list."

And:

"Of those included on the watch list, many are actually not suspected of being known terrorists, but are known as 'non-investigative subjects.' In other words, the federal government is, as Abbas says, 'literally putting people they decided not to investigate on the federal government watch list" — a matter Abbas said all American should find disconcerting because it's proof that the 'government is playing games with folks.'"

Fair play
What's more, most people on government watch lists have no idea they've been placed on one, until they attempt to exercise their constitutional rights – like buying and owning firearms.

And the Obama administration wants to emulate state laws such as those adopted in New York, where gun-hating politicians and Gov. Andrew Cuomo deny Second Amendment rights to those added to a "mental health list," even for the flimsiest of reasons. And worse, once you're on one of those lists it is next to impossible to get removed from it.

Obama has lectured Americans for years, but most recently about our need to not overreact to the Paris terrorist attacks, by denying Syrian refugees entry into our country, despite the fact that our own intelligence agencies know that terrorist operatives from that part of the world are already in the U.S., and are using the refugee "crisis" as a way to infiltrate our country and others in the West.

Well, turnabout is fair play, Mr. President. Yes, we've had some horrific shootings in recent years, but let's not overreact to them by attempting to deny innocent Americans their Second Amendment rights.

You are a genius, george. Of course, if everybody praise hard each night to baby jesus, and the congressmen and -women just stay honest in their copy-and-paste statements about their deepest feelings about the gtragic loss, yadda yadda, and as long as everybody in the usa can have all the sacred weaponry he deserves - all is well.

It's right there, in the bible, right?

Just bury the sorry idiots who got shot, tomorrows, there's going to be another shooting somewhere in the grand old USA, and we will be sorry for them all over again.

What a wonderful world this must be!

The reason why we don't talk about "bomb-control" is because we already have it. These terrorists woulmd have lovedf to be able to buy military-grade bombs. They had to build their own bombs and fill them with scrap metal to hurt more people. Now imagine if bombs were as easy to buy as guns, if military-grade grenades were as easy to bu as assault-rifles are.
These terrorists were ble to legaly buy semi-automatic guns but unable to buy military-grade bombs.

So it proves our pro gun-control point : when some things can be bought legaly, fewer criminals use them.

According to conservatives, there are already ISIS training camp in the US. If that's true american people are fucked 'cause GOP and NRA refuses to deny theses terrorists the right to buy guns, assault rifles and armor-piercing bullets.

It has nothing to do with the bible. I don't think that Obama really likes christians nor jews so much, a lot of people don't think that he is a christian. He is the only american president who to the funerals of a muslim leader (King Fahd of Saudi Arabia) and the only one who was ready to sign a nuclear dear with Iran. But Let me refresh you your memory since you have totally forgotten what Obama says about Islam from http://www.nowtheendbegins.com/40-mind-blowing-quotes-barack-hussein-obama-islam-christianity/

#6 “Islam has always been part of America”
#7 “we will encourage more Americans to study in Muslim communities”
#8 “These rituals remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.”
#9 “America and Islam are not exclusive and need not be in competition. Instead, they overlap, and share common principles of justice and progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings.”
#10 “I made clear that America is not – and never will be – at war with Islam.”
#11 “Islam is not part of the problem in combating violent extremism – it is an important part of promoting peace.”
#12 “So I have known Islam on three continents before coming to the region where it was first revealed”
#13 “In ancient times and in our times, Muslim communities have been at the forefront of innovation and education.”
#14 “Throughout history, Islam has demonstrated through words and deeds the possibilities of religious tolerance and racial equality.”
#15 “Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality”
#16 “The Holy Koran tells us, ‘O mankind! We have created you male and a female; and we have made you into nations and tribes so that you may know one another.’”
#17 “I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating Ramadan here at the White House later this week, and wish you a blessed month.”
#18 “We’ve seen those results in generations of Muslim immigrants – farmers and factory workers, helping to lay the railroads and build our cities, the Muslim innovators who helped build some of our highest skyscrapers and who helped unlock the secrets of our universe.”
#19 “That experience guides my conviction that partnership between America and Islam must be based on what Islam is, not what it isn’t. And I consider it part of my responsibility as president of the United States to fight against negative stereotypes of Islam wherever they appear.”
#20 “I also know that Islam has always been a part of America’s story.”

20 Quotes By Barack Obama About Christianity and the Bible:
#1 “Whatever we once were, we are no longer a Christian nation”
#2 “We do not consider ourselves a Christian nation.”
#3 “Which passages of scripture should guide our public policy? Should we go with Leviticus, which suggests slavery is OK and that eating shellfish is an abomination? Or we could go with Deuteronomy, which suggests stoning your child if he strays from the faith?”
#4 “Even those who claim the Bible’s inerrancy make distinctions between Scriptural edicts, sensing that some passages – the Ten Commandments, say, or a belief in Christ’s divinity – are central to Christian faith, while others are more culturally specific and may be modified to accommodate modern life.”
#5 “The American people intuitively understand this, which is why the majority of Catholics practice birth control and some of those opposed to gay marriage nevertheless are opposed to a Constitutional amendment to ban it. Religious leadership need not accept such wisdom in counseling their flocks, but they should recognize this wisdom in their politics.”
#6 From Obama’s book, The Audacity of Hope: “I am not willing to have the state deny American citizens a civil union that confers equivalent rights on such basic matters as hospital visitation or health insurance coverage simply because the people they love are of the same sex—nor am I willing to accept a reading of the Bible that considers an obscure line in Romans to be more defining of Christianity than the Sermon on the Mount.”
#7 Obama’s response when asked what his definition of sin is: “Being out of alignment with my values.”
#8 “If all it took was someone proclaiming I believe Jesus Christ and that he died for my sins, and that was all there was to it, people wouldn’t have to keep coming to church, would they.”
#9 “This is something that I’m sure I’d have serious debates with my fellow Christians about. I think that the difficult thing about any religion, including Christianity, is that at some level there is a call to evangelize and prostelytize. There’s the belief, certainly in some quarters, that people haven’t embraced Jesus Christ as their personal savior that they’re going to hell.”
#10 “I find it hard to believe that my God would consign four-fifths of the world to hell. I can’t imagine that my God would allow some little Hindu kid in India who never interacts with the Christian faith to somehow burn for all eternity. That’s just not part of my religious makeup.”
#11 “I don’t presume to have knowledge of what happens after I die. But I feel very strongly that whether the reward is in the here and now or in the hereafter, the aligning myself to my faith and my values is a good thing.”
#12 “I’ve said this before, and I know this raises questions in the minds of some evangelicals. I do not believe that my mother, who never formally embraced Christianity as far as I know … I do not believe she went to hell.”
#13 “Those opposed to abortion cannot simply invoke God’s will–they have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths.”
#14 On his support for civil unions for gay couples: “If people find that controversial then I would just refer them to the Sermon on the Mount.”
#15 “You got into these small towns in Pennsylvania and, like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing’s replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton Administration, and the Bush Administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. And it’s not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.”
#16 “In our household, the Bible, the Koran and the Bhagavad Gita sat on the shelf alongside books of Greek and Norse and African mythology”
#17 “On Easter or Christmas Day, my mother might drag me to church, just as she dragged me to the Buddhist temple, the Chinese New Year celebration, the Shinto shrine, and ancient Hawaiian burial sites.”
#18 “We have Jews, Muslims, Hindus, atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, and their own path to grace is one that we have to revere and respect as much as our own”
#19 “All of us have a responsibility to work for the day when the mothers of Israelis and Palestinians can see their children grow up without fear; when the Holy Land of the three great faiths is the place of peace that God intended it to be; when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra — (applause) — as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed, peace be upon them, joined in prayer. (Applause.)”
#20 “I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.”

The idiots are the ones trying hard to violate the US constitution and the 2nd amendment. The 2nd amendment is also what prevented the japanese to send their troops to attack the US during WWII and it does save lives. The sad fact is that the european leftists who are anti gun and not really patriotic but stateless for a big number of them that didn't and still don't understand that Americans were and are still ready to do what ever it takes to defend their inalienable rights.

Very apropos to the fools who voted for nobama twice

The ISIS groups are already in the USA http://uk.businessinsider.com/isis-america-report-2015-12?r=US&IR=T

As I've said before, you have no idea if I voted for Obama or not, so stop using that tired old trope of saying I'm a sheep. You're a complete idiot who relies on the same old tactics because you can't formulate any kind of convincing argument. You can't even make a thread using your own thoughts because you have none; you think and believe everything you read regarding terrorists is 100% infallible, 100% factual, 100% true. You have no ability to reason for yourself, no ability to judge based on your own thoughts, no ability to discern fact from fiction. And if you're going to continue to lambast Johan by saying he knows nothing of America, its politics, or the fact that the terrorists have already created splinter cells which will demolish our government from the inside and lead to an inevitable collapse of all that's righteous and good, when you have NO inkling of how things work outside of your jaded, myopic, hatred-filled view of the world, then I'm going to take immense pleasure in making you look like the fool you are. The fact that you're a mod, and engage in this level of namecalling, as well as look the other way when it's directed at those whom you don't like or agree with, is inexcusable.

Stick to tearing down Hollande, at least it's something you're relatively (and I use that in the lightest sense of the word) qualified to comment on. Stop pretending to be a specialist on America, because you're a joke when it comes to telling us how deeply we're fucked.

Conspiracy...
The reason why we don't talk about "bomb-control" is because we already have it.

So, gun control would be good? People who want weapons will get them some way.

There will be a black market just like alcohol during prohibition.

Unlike alcohol we need weapons to protect ourselves.

I've said this numerous times but you seem to be a slow learner so I'm gonna repeat it once again :

guns laws are very different and much tougher than US laws :
1) At 19 (or 20), every male swiss citizen must undergo basic military training at the Rekrutenschule (recruit school) after which Swiss men remain part of the militia until age 30 (34 for officers).
2) During that time they have to keep their gun at home but they can store it in the city's Zeughaus (armoury).
3) The gun is provided by the government and it's a very specific gun : 5.56x45mm SIG SG 550 rifle for enlisted personnel and/or the 9mm SIG P220 semi-automatic pistol for officers, military police, medical and postal personnel).
4) The ammos are provided by the government as sealed package. It is illegal to use these ammos without government authorisation.
5) At the end of their time of service, men can keep the gun but this requires a specific licence.
6) The Swiss governement sponsors shooting range. The ammos that are bought at the shooting range have to be used there.
7) Buying any other gun requires a licence.
8) Carrying a gun requires a licence.

If any US politician would propose a bill to implement the same gun-laws in the US, there would be head explosions all over NRA, GOP and Fox News

But Let me refresh you your memory since you have totally forgotten what Obama says about Islam

I guess I might as well do the same since you seem to have totally forgotten what George Bush had to say about Islam.
And this is only a partial list.
His rhetoric remained the same throughout his two terms in office.

And those values are alive in the Islamic world today. You have a rich culture, and you share the aspirations of men and women in every culture. Ralph Peters is a clown. Whatver the question, whatever the issue, his answer is always the same : more war, more bombings, more killings

Ace Boobtoucher

Founder and Captain of the Douchepatrol
In this instance he's absolutely correct in calling Stompy Foot a total pussy. Stomy convened a national address tonight because apparently someone shoved some newspapers in his face on Friday to tell him to get off his ass and talk about the worst terrorist attack on U.S. soil since 9/11.

And of course he spent all that time defending Islam.

Actuallly, it takes somes guts to dfend muslims when half of the country thinks all muslims are terrorists or terrorists sympathisers. A pussy would give up his principles and run with the pack of those who are asking "When can we geet rid of [muslims] ?". A pussy would flip-flop, depending on what he thinks he's best for him (like Mitt Romney on abortion).

Ace Boobtoucher

Founder and Captain of the Douchepatrol
That's not the point. The point is that when fucking muslims repeatedly fucked up Paris, the entire world was all "Je suis Charlie" and "Pray for Paris," and something's gotta be done about islamic terrorism. When it happened here Stompy Foote's reaction was "we gotta get rid of guns and speech that disagrees with islam."

When it happened here Stompy Foote's reaction was "we gotta get rid of guns and speech that disagrees with islam."

I think you're overlooking this part, Ace.

If we're to succeed in defeating terrorism, we must enlist Muslim communities as some of our strongest allies rather than push them away through suspicion and hate.

That does not mean denying the fact that an extremist ideology has spread within some Muslim communities. It's a real problem that Muslims must confront without excuse.

Muslim leaders here and around the globe have to continue working with us to decisively and unequivocally reject the hateful ideology that groups like ISIL and Al Qaeda promote. To speak out against not just acts of violence, but also those interpretations of Islam that are incompatible with the values of religious tolerance, mutual respect, and human dignity.

As I explained a few post before, tougher gun-laws would make it less easy for terrorists to get assault rifles

The reason why we don't talk about "bomb-control" is because we already have it. These terrorists would have loved to be able to buy military-grade bombs. They had to build their own bombs and fill them with scrap metal to hurt more people. Step in my shop and I'll fix yours too.
From where I sit Obama is a big ole windbag. He is not going to take my guns away anymore than he will put a dent in the Islamic State. Even other Democrats in the Senate and House seem disgusted with him and many Americans regret their support for this flim-flam artist who took them for a ride as well. Obama's face sells guns like Uncle Ben's does rice. When your bullshit political speeches worry Americans about increasing gun control you cause them to hurry out and buy guns.
