My single core 1.0 GHZ laptop will still find my porn. This computer is just for gaming currently.

It was between Asus and Asus (alienware). I decided to go with Asus directly. Didn't want to pay for the name alienware just to have Asus parts inside.

Hope there's nothing to embarrassing in my room. Too tired to care anyways.

Thanks to the guys that helped.

I have the exact same machine, bought about a month ago, very happy with it. Use it for school (software engineering) and some light gaming, most intense game I've run is FEAR and its pretty smooth and sweet on max details.

Good choice with the Asus; reasonably priced also for a gaming machine. No, nothing embarrassing there (spliff??). No more problems with Firefox I hope;)
And always logged on to FreeOnes I hope;)

Nice set-up!

Mine is currently working on a big assignment in C++, has had 20 or so windows open for several days, including 3 instances of visual C++ and about 5 or 6 instances of firefox, plus lots of compiling and hasn't slowed down a bit. Rock solid. I'm an Asus fan from way back.

Mine is G51vx, looks the same as those pics though. 15.6" monitor, core 2 duo P7350, 4GB RAM, geforce GTX 260M 1GB. Paid $1050 but just saw it for $999 at best buy, didn't seem to be on sale.

^^Thanks bud, perhaps the G60 is the latest model? Nice laptop. :)

Hmm, not sure, just looked at asus website and they list only the G51 and G71, similar machines except the 71 is 17 inch.

^^Strange. I'm pretty certain the G60 has a 15.6 inch screen

^Looks the same, but some differences include 16 inch screen with higher resolution (this one maxes at 1366x768) and a blue-ray drive which I don't have. Also looks significantly more expensive at 1500 pounds. Maybe it's euro only and that's why it's not on the asus site(I looked at American site).

^Ah, that might explain it. I just did a Google search for my above link, but I too will have to rely on Asus USA. Thanks.:)

G71 is the latest one currently. I think it's a decent computer. It's for a gamer on a budget. I wanted the 5,500 alienware laptop, but I need to get some things focused on in life anyways.

For porn surfing, more cores = more threads, so Quad Core is ideal (e.g., Q9000).
More memory also means less disk access, 4GB minimum, 6GB+ ideal (for the few notebooks with triple channel DDR3).

Resolution of 1080p (1920x1080 or 1920x1200) is available in as low as 15" now.
Women are best viewed in full 1080p, especially at today's pics (and more and more video).

Plus, I've noted a number of notebooks today are coming with dual mini-PCIe slots.
One can be used for WLAN, while the other for a SSD.
You don't want to replace your hard drive with a SSD, as the SSDs won't last as long for general usage.
But a SSD complementing hard drive (such as with Windows ReadyBoost, or for Linux root and binaries if you run Linux) will last long as a ready-only cache while the hard drive will be used far less (and last even longer).
I'm surprised more laptop manufacturers aren't pushing the SSD add-only (with hard drive) as an option, especially since not only Windows 7, but even Vista, was designed for it.

I don't look at porn on this computer. I use my 1.0 GHZ single core computer which is still fast as hell because I had to learn how to keep it clean.

^That's the key. Keeping your PC clean from any detritus and software that is not worth a dime - and not deserving of a megabyte of HD space.

Most people prefer to spend less on their laptop than their first house. Quad core laptops and ones with 6GB are still pretty rare, and I'm not 100% sure, but confident that you won't get a quad core in a smaller than 17" housing.
