what the fuck is a neocon? I see it in all sorts of threads. At first I thought it was some political bullshit, but now I'm not sure.

yes, I really did need to start a thread just to ask this question :thefinger

Well, it would be a political stance of a "new conservatism". That would be less government and to maintain things as they are without government intervention.

maintain things as they are? Fuck that, things need to change, but the less government thing I like...so whats that make me?

what is this phobia against neocons and against the right wing in general? Is being a social liberal better?:dunno:

I thought it was a jewish conservative like alot of the guests on fox news.
I dont buy that wiki explanation.

nobody knows, its just a word that has no meaning like shama langa ding dong and give peace a chance

The two chief neocons, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld, are not Jewish. Both are good old boys who are WASP.

People on the left use the word and don't have a fucking clue as to what it means. It just sounds catchy to them I guess. They sound just as stupid as the ones on the right who use words like "socialism" and "fascist" with no understanding of what those terns actually imply. People are a bunch of sheep. It's sad.

A NeoCon is a person who pretends to be a decent and genuine fiscal Conservative and there's a huge difference between a no good lying and treacherous NeoCon and a genuinely patriotic fiscal Conservative. NeoCons tout Conservative ideals such as a small government that has limited power, Christian family values, etc. but their actions are inconsistent with economic and cultural Conservate values as their track record proves. NeoCons are only fiscally conservative in theory but not in practice. History shows that NeoCons have inherited budget surpluses from "Liberal" presidents who preceded them only to create record budget deficits rather than maintain healthy budget surpluses and reduce deficits under their watch. NeoCons govern through the use of bullying, intimidation, threats and other fear tactics rather then using logic, reason and compassion

And then the social justice liberal takes said defict and out spends it by 3x as much in his first year in office.

These problems we're faced with were created by Liberal NeoCons who pretend to be fiscal conservatives. In order to repair the damage done by these NeoCons who are in fact liberal spenders, it's going to take spending a whole lot of money to fix them and get things back on track until yet again, another predictable NeoCon comes along and takes over as conductors and derails the fast train we're all on only to cause another predictable trainwreck that we're left to clean up

^ those are your words and please refrain from projecting them onto me by trying to put them in my mouth.

NeoCons are a bunch of lying, treacherous, greedy, no good hypocrites and they're not genuine Conservatives such as Ron Paul is.

Ron Paul is a liberal's conservative.

The umbrella group Americans Against Escalation in Iraq, whose members include such progressive groups as the Service Employees Union International(SEIU) and MoveOn.org Political Action, issued a laudatory shout out today to Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, the libertarian Republican presidential candidate.

I am sorry but ANY self respecting Republican would NEVER take an endorsement from SEIU and Moveon.org.

I think that's well stated. The view is to demand actions which lead to no regulation, the inmates running the asylum. Unfortunately the human race isn't a big bunch of nice altruistic people who are fair and generous, so that political stance can't exist for very long before it has to be fixed by the legal hand of the big government being resisted, making it even bigger.

Something else that comes to mind is people like Richard Fuld of Lehman Brothers. Here the guy certainly enjoyed less regulation, took risks with other's pension funds, lost it all, and then received a huge gov't bailout, (I think the largest bailout and the largest bankruptcy)? Then he argued his $489 million dollar bonuses over 8 years were completely justified and he shouldn't have to give anything up.

Trickle down economics was sold by Reagan, and obviously doesn't work.

I haven't had time to read past the first paragraph but it looks interesting and is hopefully accurate;

86% of Bailout Money Used for Executive Bonuses
http://endthebailouts.com/2008/11/07/86-of-bailout-money-used-for-executive-bonuses/
When confronted about these numbers, the executives will always claim that the bonuses are paid out of other funds and company earnings. This completely ignores the fact that without the taxpayers’ bailout money, there would be no earnings! If there was anyone left who still felt like the bailout was a good idea (besides the executives who directly benefit), this should be the final nail in the coffin that we were just robbed blindly while the politicians patted themselves on the back.

Let's not forget who signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 and who was pushing for the bailouts. That's right folks it was the evil NeoCo....... what? No really? he actually signed that?
