On friday Naseem Hamed (32) former world featherweight champion of the world was sentenced to 15 months in prison here in Sheffield. He was jailed for crippling another motorist as he was showing off in his Mercedes McLaren. He was going 90 mph round a blind bend and smashed head on into the other motorist in his home city of Sheffield.
I don't feel sorry for him no, in fact I think he should have got longer IMO. The reason I say that is, he will serve about 7 - 8 months with good behavour. Also I don't like the fact that while he's in prison he will get a 24 hr security team protecting him from other inmates.
He could have ****** the other driver, just because he was showing off to the passenger in his car. He even left the scene of the accident and when police caught up to him at first denied he was even in the car. Never mind been the driver of it when it crashed. Some people think this man is a god here in Sheffield and was hard done by. But this is how he has acted ever since he started to make his name boxing.
But why should we pay for a man who's committed a crime like this and even try to deny it at first, 24 hr security. Surely he's no better than the rest of the inmates and should be treated just as them. I know he's going to be a target for some of them, but as the saying goes "if you can't do the time, then don't do the crime!".
