More God, Less Crime or More Guns, Less Crime?

Neither. Although this part of the blog post has the ring of truth to it: "it is extremely hard to keep criminals from getting and keeping guns. In other words, Gun bans are primarily obeyed by non-criminals. Criminals that already have guns do not turn them in, and potential criminals that want to get guns have no problem procuring them on the street illegally". The problem with statistics is that they can be spun to back up almost any argument. As for god, I'm fairly certain (not 100% though) that there isn't a god, but people have been doing awful things in the name of religion since the beginning of recorded history. I'm not sure there's any way to really judge if more religion would be a positive or negative thing. Also, how many people who practice a religion actually believe in it, VS just pretending to believe in order to placate community and family? I know that's what I had to do as a kid.

We need more guns that need to have that novelty flag that says bang on it.

Less cigarettes - tobacco / no cigarettes - tobacco... Lower healthcare for the common good.
That way people who don't smoke don't get punished for those that do make the mistake of doing so.
What kills more people everyday? Guns or disease caused by inhaling chemicals?

By they way. My guns..... LOCKED IN A SAFE...... Have not killed anybody today, but you can not say that about cigarettes or it's related items.

(Religious beliefs kill or by act of omission kill too.)

"Ted Kennedy's car, has killed more people then my guns!" I always found that, to be a very funny bumper sticker.

I'm not against people having guns. I am however against criminals being able to walk into a gunstore and purchase a gun without a background check. I am against someone with a history of mental health problems being able to walk into a gunstore and purchase a gun without undergoing a background check. I don't give a fuck what the 2nd amendment says these people should not be able to buy a gun.

Those measures are already in check. Before a gun can be purchased at a store, the seller sends (in my case) my driver's license info to the Colorado Bureau of Investigation. It's all done on a computer. Typically, within twenty minutes I am "approved" and after I give them the money, out the door I go.

You are checked when you buy a gun from a store....and if you have been committed, you will be denied also. Criminals usually steal them, or buy them from other criminals.

I think the world would be a better place if we had a little less of all those things.

On another note people can own guns if they want too but they are not a necessity in this day and age. Also it is unnecessary for civilians to carry concealed weapons or for people to own assault rifles.

I would really, really like those in doubt to have a look at the linked PDF study in that article, here. You don't even have to go beyond the abstract:
Large-scale surveys show dramatic declines in religiosity in favor of secularization in the
developed democracies. Popular acceptance of evolutionary science correlates negatively with
levels of religiosity, and the United States is the only prosperous nation where the majority
absolutely believes in a creator and evolutionary science is unpopular. Abundant data is available
on rates of societal dysfunction and health in the first world. Cross-national comparisons of highly
differing rates of religiosity and societal conditions form a mass epidemiological experiment that
can be used to test whether high rates of belief in and worship of a creator are necessary for high
levels of social health. Data correlations show that in almost all regards the highly secular
democracies consistently enjoy low rates of societal dysfunction, while pro-religious and anti-
evolution America performs poorly.
To summarize: those who believe in fucked up shit (logically speaking) tend to be fucked up. Makes pretty good sense, really.

And as for guns, well...for or against, at least in America's case, the end of the article puts it pretty succinctly:
...the problem is that the genie is out of the bottle. Millions of guns are already out there, and short of a Stasi-like police state sweep through every home, business, garage, shack, storage unit, cabin, car, and container in every nook and cranny in every state in the union, gun bans will most likely be honored by the people who least need them and ignored by those who do—the criminals.
They ain't going away.
