Mikhail Khazin: A New World Order – or a Return to Feudalism?
Russia has always had its fair share of naysayers prophesying America’s doom. Now, the economic crisis that has spread to one of the world’s largest oil exporters means that some of these prophets are actually being taken seriously.
Take Mikhail Khazin, an economist who worked in the Economic Ministry and for President Boris Yeltsin’s economic directorate throughout the 1990s. His 2003 book, “The End of the Dollar Empire and Pax Americana.” talks about the pending global crisis. More recently, a 2007 article, “The Collapse of the Global Financial System: It Has Just Days to Live” predicts the current crisis.
