MFC photography project help

Hello, I'm currently working on a photography project to document the various people in MFC to explore differences in public identity and their identity on MFC and was wondering if somebody here
could help answer a question of mine because I could not find a forum at MFC.

I'm trying to contact MFC models for my new photography project but the issue I'm having is contacting people closer to NYC because that's where I work out of and unfortunately do not have
much of a traveling budget at the moment. I know most models block their region but I was wondering if there was anyway I could make it easier in finding these people because at the moment I'm basically sending random messages to people in hopes that they're somewhat close to NY. If there's a board for MFC or something that I could put out a message, I would love to hear from it. Thank you for any suggestions and yes I know how creepy this sounds.

Please feel free to ask any questions, thank you.

That does make the whole first post take on a whole creepy stalker type feeling.

Is this project paid?

Because if it is paid, then I can certainly recommend a few places where you could advertise for this project. But if you're looking for models to work for free...yeah you aren't gonna get this project done.

haha, no it is not paid. I'm afraid I do not have the resources but I would appreciate any recommendations; maybe I'll be able to get a grant of some sort.

It only sounds creepy and it's really not much work for the person to be honest; I've done projects where the only thing I gave the subject was photos, some not asking for anything.

Thank you for letting me know that it's not really possible to get past the region block, I would still appreciate any suggestions to contact people. I suppose I'll have to do it the difficult way.

You don't get it do you?

It's not only creepy to try to bypass or circumvent the privacy settings of a cam girl, it's outright wrong to make this information public.

And linking adult model personal profiles to professional profiles without their written consent is downright despicable. :douchebag:

Isn't this "project" just one step back from Porn Wiki Leaks? I mean, if a porn star or cam girl wants to link her actual name with her porn or cam girl identity, she could do that on her own, couldn't she?

Sounds kind of like FaceBook to me. At first glance, maybe it seems like fun and it's free. But you wind up "putting your business in the street" without intending to.

I'm not trying to make any information public. All I'm trying to do is contact people to see if they're interested in this project. Whatever information they want to release about themselves would be on their
own consent. I think You Might be confused as to what I'm trying to do. Thank you for voicing your concern though; definitely not a douche but I am an asshole but not for this.

Hey Rey C. You're right about them giving their identity up on their own but I think you're also getting confused as to what I'm trying to do. I'm not starting some network of information on people; I'm just working on a documentary photography project. If they wanted me to use their internet name, I would happily do it.

Cool. Sorry if I misinterpreted what you were saying. I have seen documentaries on porn and porn stars (CNBC did one that was somewhat interesting). To be honest, if it was well put together, I'd probably watch it. When girls, who have amateur sites or are in pro-am porn, confide that they often face struggles when neighbors or family members find out about their sites or activities, it does make for an interesting (though often tragic or disturbing) life story.

You're part of the public you know. And you're trying to circumvent the privacy systems there to prevent their information from becoming public without their consent. So... how exactly aren't you trying to make their information public without their consent again? Seems like that's your entire goal with this thread.

I don't think it's fair to say I'm trying to make their information public when all I'm looking for is a way to contact people. I don't need to know MFC models who are specific to a region but if there was some forums people go to, I can at the very least post something in which they can contact me on their own free will.

Though I believe everyone's privacy is important I believe you're being a bit hypercritical here.

I think I'm confused again. A good many of them have FaceBook pages and are on Twitter. Why not just use those methods?

I don't think it's fair to say I'm trying to make their information public when all I'm looking for is a way to contact people.

You're asking to find out the region from which certain people originate who have specifically blocked their region from being known to the public. They are specifically trying to keep that information from people and you are trying to work around that, so yeah, you are trying to find a way to make their information public. Let's be clear here, you are a part of the public. You are among the people that they are trying to keep their information from. You are not some special little flower who is exempt from their wishes just because you will it so.

If they wanted this information known they'd make it known. They don't and you are trying to find it out anyway. As Rey has mentioned many of these people have channels through which they can be reached. They have created acceptable avenues to use, while you are trying to circumvent an optional system put in place to protect information that they have chosen to keep private (including from you). That's not cool.

To be frank, this is the type of thing that if you found it out accidentally you should feel bad for violating their privacy... and you're going out of your way to do it.

And it doesn't help that even you have admitted, repeatedly, that this is creepy.

Though I believe everyone's privacy is important...

No, you obviously don't. If you did you wouldn't be trying to get information about people that they have specifically gone out of their way to try and deny people. If everyone's privacy is important to you then you wouldn't be trying to violate people's privacy.

...I believe you're being a bit hypercritical here.

I'm obviously not. Heck, you're describing your own actions as creepy. That should be a sign right there that you're doing something that even you know you shouldn't be doing.
