I was looking for the article I read earlier about the LA county sheriffs office, that is employing gang members in high level positions. and they just found out they were affiliated to cartels, MC's, and gangs.

Personally it wouldn't break my heart on bit, if we took swift military action against mexico, and cleaned house ourselves. It would also stand to reason that as we moved South through the country, we would pull the good people aside, and employ them to build housing, for the good people that are leaving because of the bad people, and prisons, to house the bad people, until we could execute for their crimes.

Two Hondurans ‘shot and killed’ the eagle in Nebraska. They were charged with unlawful possession of the eagle. Does that mean they were allowed to possess the rifle used to kill the eagle? The gun was confiscated. Looks like a nice one to me.

I think that's a high end pellet rifle. I'm not even sure of the pistol from that angle, and seeing that round piece on the magazine. I didn't hear them mention any firearms charges in the article, which confused me from the get go, because without a license, you can't legally buy a gun, and that rifle isn't what you would typically expect from an illegal gun purchase. A pistol yeah, but a rifle would likely be an AR.

I might give the same advice too. I love Mexico and Mexicans down there have been super nice to me and have appreciated my business and gratuity. Me and my wife went for a fun little cruise but stayed in a huge group in crowded areas when walking around on land. A cruise like we went on seemed pretty safe but I would avoid being too adventuresome down there. Such a shame because they are my next door neighbors in California. There is also a higher presence of cartel activity in resort areas where there were not in the past. When in doubt; err on the side of caution.

I recall going on family vacations to Mexico as a young kid though. Too young to go to party places, so we'd go out on family outings for snorkeling, dune buggy riding etc. I remember the rural villages were so quiet and peaceful. Never crossed my mind they might be dangerous. Or maybe there were safe back then.
