I don't know about where you people are from, but in my area messageboards are both all the rave & all the local controversy.
Several local messageboards: one owned operated by a local newspaper the other by a local political party have many govt. officials in a tizzy - lol
Many local issues relating to local govt./politics get discussed, debated or argued there. Things like local & world current events, political beliefs, govt. spending & pratices, etc.
Well several people in our area want these boards shut down and people posting on them identified & punished.:dunno:
Mind you no one is making threats or anything like that just debating politics.
Of these people that want this down are numerous area politicians, a few local police chiefs, 1 fire chief, several political activists, a local attorney and one local doctor of questionable reputation in his field.
All this controversy has done is spur more posting on these boards as opposed to scaring people away.
The small-mindedness of these people cracks me up.
