McCain statement regarding failure to agree on $700B bill

He better say something good to get those house republicans to vote for this soon.Bush clearly can't get it done.If McCain doesn't get something done with the house republicans or at least been seen to have done everything he could after all his drama about suspending his campaign he might as well just pack it in and give up running if this slide in the economy continues because no bail out was approved.Republicans already are going to be taking the rap for this if McCain wants to have any hope he better get those house republicans to vote for the package.

Making a statement that the economy is fine a few days before another huge dip or two in the stock market shouts inadequate experience and dickhead move. At this point.. I dont know how much itll mean to even be president for the next four years.. unless you want to be a magnet for complaints, disses and hate from the nation while we suffer this economic meltdown.

The devil you know is better than . . .

Shall we reign in hell or serve in heaven? :p

I cant really quote religion at a time like this. But I'll tell ya this, if we hit a depression there's gonna be a lot of new pro-choicers. ;)

"I CANT AFFORD MYSELF, LET ALONE THIS BABEH!"

Sorry. Clinic's closed. We have this clothes hanger, tho. G'luck with the bleeding.

"I’ll be the round about
the words will make you out ’n’ out
you change the day your way
call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley

The music dance and sing
they make the children really ring
I spend the day your way
call it morning driving thru the sound and in and out the valley

In and around the lake
mountains come out of the sky and they stand there
one mile over we’ll be there and we’ll see you
ten true summers we’ll be there and laughing too
twenty four before my love you’ll see I’ll be there with you

I will remember you
your silhouette will charge the view
of distance atmosphere
call it morning driving thru the sound and even in the valley

Along the drifting cloud the eagle searching down on the land
catching the swirling wind the sailor sees the rim of the land
the eagles dancing wings create as weather spins out of hand
go closer hold the land feel partly no more than grains of sand
we stand to lose all time a thousand answers by in our hand
next to your deeper fears we stand
surrounded by a million years"

A fairly even number of house Republicans AND Democrats voted against it.

It's a good thing he put his campaign on hold to go to Washington and made sure he used his influence to get this passed...........oh wait.

I thought it was 1:2 against for the republicans. The dems were more for it.

You are much closer AFA.
For the bailout (140 democrats / 65 Republicans - 205 total)
Against the bailout (95 democrats / 133 Republicans - 228 total)

Twice as many republicans voted against it as voted for it.

McCain has been off the rails for a couple of weeks now.He was suspending his campaign and wouldn't debate until a deal was made.No deal he debated anyway. He then accused Obama of being wrong for saying he would be in phone contact every day and that he McCain was returning to DC after the debate to get a deal.He returned to his campaign office in Va and worked the PHONES only and couldn't even deliver 1/2 of the house republicans, not even close to 1/2 and not enough to get the bill passed. But he is a leader who can get it done and says what he means. His campaign right now is a train wreck and they are very concerned about Palin after the problems she had in the TV intervews when she debates later this week.

What could he say when the bill negates all his party principles and amounts to “a coffin on top of Ronald Reagan’s coffin". This is the end of the Reagan Revolution and the return to the principles of FDR.

It's all ...

It's all politics at this point.

That and the reality that since the '60s through the '80s for sure, we've been arguing between Facist (government controlled business/monopoly) and Socialist (government run agency) economies.

Capitalism is long dead, and often mis-represented. People keep thinking this is about regulation ... it's 100% about control.

Which do you trust more? Government or the government-mandated monopoly?

I choose neither and it's why I refuse to vote either McCain or Obama.

Legzman

what the fuck you lookin at?
I'm still curious where they were planning to get all that money, had the bill passed?
