Mark Emmert, the head of the NCAA, announced that he will retire by March 2023.

Personally, I think this is LONG overdue. Any thoughts?

The Kansas City Jayhawks thank him for his service over the past 5 years.

How he survived 12 years - and why he is allowed to choose another one - is beyond me. They need to find his replacement by fall.

Good luck to the next President. It will take years to clean up this mess.

"Mess" implies one problem, but I can think of quite a few.

He screwed up an investigation of Miami.
He screwed up an investigation of Oregon.
He screwed up an investigation of North Carolina.
He imposed fines on Penn State - which wasn't legal.
He quashed two investigations of Alabama and Saban (his best friend).
He refused to launch a third investigation of Alabama despite overwhelming evidence.
The NCAA was found guilty in federal court of violating anti-trust laws - TWICE.
And, so much more...
