Maitland Ward ; Is she worth the hype ?

She's 43, she's a mainstream actress turned porn performer in 2019 (although she did a scene with Dany Mountain in 2018).
Although she's been in the industry for less than a year now she already gathered 3 AVN Awards (including one for her cam-shows) and 3 X-Biz Awards she's shooting with the best performers and the best directors for the most prestigious companies, she was the "main attraction" to the 2020 Avn Expo...
So clearly she'zs the industry's new shiny toy but what are your thoughts on her ? Is she worth the hype or just a overblowned rookie ? Is she to become the new face of the industry or is she gonna disappear as fast as she came ?

Right now, probably worth at least a cursory look, watch or whatever. As you said, she's worked with a lot of people in the industry. Solo, B/G and G/G, something for most people's tastes there.
She's got a certain appeal because of her former career and she's doing quite well cashing in on that.

As for the long run? Anyone's guess. She could be like Julia Ann and be here for long time or just be here to make a new name for herself and leave after a few years with hopefully a chunk of money in her pocket.
We'll just have to wait and see.

I think she's bringing something new to the table : real acting talent. Not Oscar-winning performances but still way ahead of probably every performer in the industry. And, from what I've seen, her being good at acting she's pushing the performers around her to get better at it. And the fact that she's good actually helps them to improve.
Also she's allowing feature films to be less akward. If you have her playing, for example, a dominant CEO who likes to treat her employees as her sex-slaves, she will get the presence and the gravitas necessary for the part.

She's from the mainstream entertainment and she's probably the firts mainstream actress to switch to the porn industry so she's actually a traill-blazer, she's actually breaking barriers and, depending on how she will do she might not be the last to do that...
She might have started something that's could have a big, lasting impact on the industry.

For me she would be totally worth the hype if it werent for her massive weight loss that occurred around her turn to hardcore. That ruined her appeal for me. Before her weight loss it was hard to ignore her even though she isnt really my type. Its crazy that she spent so many years doing teasing non-nude photos, then when she finally went topless she went on to hardcore pretty quick. One thing she does that's smart is she knows how to not over saturate her marketability (unlike most other pornstars) . Go on her twitter feed and if you scroll all the way through the month of May you will only find a couple of topless pics. Most other chicks would have endless amounts of porn gifs from their scenes showing them having sex and taking cum facials. But with Maitland's twitter you get a bit more mystery. If anything I hope her breaking of barriers will cause more actresses to follow suit. As a fitness model fan I hope it will cause more mainstream fitness chicks to go into porn. She really was only a C - level actress and Im surprised we havent gotten more women like that doing porn in the past.

Although she wasn't an actress, didn't they say the same kind of things when Vikki LaMotta (rest-in-peace) did a sensual layout for Playboy in November 1981? She was 51 at the time. They could not believe how beautiful Vikki was.
