I will leave judgment on the album until I have heard it. But I haven’t got high hopes. The album cover is already causing offence on the London Underground. Or should that really be upsetting a feminist journalist who writes for the telegraph?

Lou Reed is such a hit or miss artist. When he's good, he's mind-blowing; when he's bad, it's god-awful. I don't know what posessed him to team up w/ Metallica anyway.

I didn't think Metallica could get any wimpier.

And I never got the whole Lou Reed thing. People trip over themselves to talk about how awesome he is and what a huge influence he was but you still only ever hear one song of his on the radio and it's not that great.

Lou Reed and Jane's Addiction would have made more sense IMO. They're style of hard rock would have suited him better. Metallica have been trying so hard since 1996 to be cool, but that's what makes them uncool.
