Obama has already appointed 329 judges to lifetime jobs, more than one third of the judiciary, and they’re already moving American jurisprudence in Obama’s direction. He got two left-leaning women onto the Court: Sonia Sotomayor, the first Hispanic justice, and Elena Kagan, his former solicitor general. He also flipped the partisan balance of the nation’s 13 courts of appeals; when he took office, only one had a majority of Democratic appointees, and now nine do.
You should be sending a little bit of your cash to get some action going. Because President Obama and Harry Reid have left you with a shitload of favorable judges to fuck with the Trump Administration on just about every front. Like the Bush judges did. Most importantly, President Obama has flipped the important DC Circuit in favor of Democrats by 7 to 4. The second most important, the 2nd Circuit (which covers Trump Tower), has flipped 7-4. The long left leaning 9th Circuit is even more solidified by Obama adding 7 judges to lifetime appointments there.
With all manner of injunctions, discovery, and orders at their disposal, Democratic district and appellate judges can tie up this administration in knots for years. Who knows what may emerge from that? I sense political opportunities! Trump is probably the juiciest lawsuit target to ever step foot in the oval office.
But the cases have to be brought. The best lawyers have to be paid. That's one area where you can put your money where your big mouth is. I certainly plan to.
On the criminal front, Donald Trump and his allies are distinctly vulnerable residing in a Democratic state with a liberal Mayor, Attorney General and District Attorney. Not to mention, pursuant to a 2010 presidential directive, an impressive turnover in career prosecutors at the Justice Department.
Use the courts for political gain just like Republicans do. There's media coverage there. There's ways to gin up activists there. There may even be some bright young political stars there. Lets not forget Watergate didn't start with a burglary. The first burglary was a success. It started with the arrest after the second burglary and an appearance before a judge.
Start the new year off right. Sue Republicans!
