Lets not forget what many republicans are for.

With so many threads on Obama and how radical some say he and the dems are lets not forget about what those nice normal ****** values republicans would like to do if they had the chance.

Case in point is the race for Governors seat in Virginia. Republican Bob McDonnell is and has been leading in the polls.I knew little about him or the race untill today when he appeared on Fox sunday show with Chris Douglas.

He is a radical evangelical christian who has said a lot of things to prove it and made lots of votes in virginia to promote his agenda. So extreme he (although now he says he has changed) has been for making sex between unmarried people ******* and even said married couples should not be allowed to use birth control. This was all when he worked for Pat Robertson the evangelical TV host.

I understand times are tough and all incumbents are on the chopping block but can't the republicans find somebody without all that religious baggage who thinks his extreme religious views should be the law of the land?

Here in NJ the incumbent democrate Gov is in a tough battle as well and has been trailing in the polls. But the republican running is nothing like the one running in Va. as that type wouldn't have a prayer here no matter how tough the times were.Lets hope that the people of Va are not willing to vote for such right wing extremism as well and send the republicans the message that they will not vote for anyone under any circumstances who would intrude into americans private lives and bedrooms.

It's not the dems who are the extremists IMO it's these radical religious republicans who are the fringe. What person thinks he can tell people to not use rubbers(thinks their ought to be laws against using them), even married ones to boot?:thefinger

People are people. They make mistakes, they will falter, they will be wrong when they think they are right.

Just because someone says they're Republican or Democrat, in the end, they're just all flesh and bone. All going to be screwing up one way or the other.

Irony and paradoxes live within politics. Where one says they stand up for the little guy they are flying on private jets and spending money galore that benefits them. Where another says they are righteous and religious, they love sex as much as the next person and pursue it.

Door swings both ways.

In the end they are all human. Just like us and every other flesh and ***** shell on this earth. Of course they obviously live a different lifestyle and all that sort.

Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, or whatever title yourself. In the end, we all make mistakes and all screw up. That is that.

McDonnell's thesis was written 20 (?) years ago. He has already faced this from his challenger. It was written before his political career began, and he says that he has since changed his views on those topics.

I for one can not STAND the religious right, It's people like these the point the finger at everyone, but in the mean while there families are the most fucked up. I also do not vote for a religious republican and I never will, they do not represent my values I just wsh the whole evanglical part of the party would go away, they do more to keep people away than help the party out.

He was 34 years old when he wrote his thesis. If he'd been in his early to mid 20's, that would be one thing. But if he was still "finding himself" in his mid 30's, that alone is reason enough for me to dismiss him. He might transform again before the election and become a Taliban member or something.

Fucking Fundies! Especially since we're all admitted porn viewers here, any of you who run with the snake charming, bible thumpers are like chickens who support Colonel Sanders!

And a P.S.: No, I'm not anti-God or anti-religion. But I am anti-extremist, whether it's Christians, Jews or Muslims!
