I see the outlawing of prostitution as being based upon an outdated (IMO) principle, that being that we can, and should, legislate morality. I think it's fair to say that that philosophy doesn't work.
Conversely, legalizing prostitution accomplishes a great deal. The girls are able to work in a much healthier environment, the spread of STD's is hampered, organized crime and pimps are taken out of the equation, and, oh yeah, the gov't gets a nice little source of tax revenue! It's being done in Nevada as we speak, and the results have been very good.
BTW, once again, I have nothing to gain personally from taking this position, as hiring prostitutes is not my cuppa tea.
