Lasik

Has anyone ever had lasik eye surgery?

I have been a little bit intrested in it because Im sick of wearing glasses and I failed at putting contacts in. I know its very expensive, around here its about 2k per eye.

What I want to know is how the process was, what are the risks (I have looked around online but couldnt find any real numbers or percentages of how many people that actually suffered from a screw up).

Another think thing I didnt find much on but is there a chance you can go blind with it?

This is just a though in my head right now because its a lot money that I dont have, and I also dont know much about it, but I want to start taking a look into it.

Any info would be great, Thanks.

No Touch PRK ...

I'm waiting for No Touch PRK to be perfected. PRK is preferred to common LASEK/LASIK for many, long-term reasons. Understand that LASEK/LASIK still involve a blade, and that's the scariest part for most people. PRK is more painful and has more temporary side effects that last longer, so most opt for LASEK/LASIK.

I like having the choice to wear glasses or contacts, so I probably wouldn't have it done, especially if money was an issue.

Glasses please!

Oh, glasses please! Sorry, love a woman who looks like she could hold an intelligent conversation, including throughout sex. ;)

Back to reality ... I want PRK at some point because glasses just get on my nerves. I stopped wearing contacts as I exited sports, they just aren't worth the bother.

So for PRK they just take the whole piece of "lining" off and let it grow back?

I can set up a free consulation meeting down here but I wanted to learn a little bit more, and 2ndly I wanted to have some of the money shaved.

It probably wouldnt bother me to wear glasses, but I cant put contacts in to save my life.

And im just getting annoyed by my glass. If i didnt have to where them 24/7 it prolly wouldnt bother me as much.

do you post on another board?

a thread on this exact subject appeared on another board today, along with a thread about the DC *** ruling.

I can dismiss the other one because it's national news, even though the two postings were close to each other. but another random topic that pops up the same? I'm seeing deja vu.

I love my glasses, for looks and function, but for baseball (at least when I got to college level) I used disposable contacts, one pair for each game. I was just like you, I had the damnedest time putting in my contacts. A lot of times I had to resort to having someone else (with clean hands!) put them in for me. Fortunately now, I don't have occasion to wear contacts anymore as I am not in any serious sports. If I had been lucky enough to actually succeed with my baseball, I would have seriously considered Lasik. Even though back then it was even riskier and more expensive than it is now. lol

Check out www.lasikworld.com. They have a bunch of information on what procedures are like and what your choices are.

Mostly ive heard glowing reviews about Lasik eye surgery, i probably would get it but aint got the necessary funds.

Thought about it a million times but just can't stomach the thought of somebody fucking with my eyes like that.

I **** wearing glasses and contacts **** me off, but I dont have the stomach for it, they slice the film that protects the eye and lift it off and then laser it.
