This one takes the cake...or doughnut? 
Seriously, two cops mistake the backfire of a vehicle for gunfire? These are "trained" officers I assume? Can you imagine what would happen if you mistook a vehicle backfire as gunfire and then proceeded to "return" fire at said vehicle? Where do they find these morons? Who trains them? I feel sorry for folks living in KC with temperamental vehicles who have to drive by a Krispy Kreme every now and then.

Two Kansas City police officers who thought they were being shot at from inside a van returned fire Thursday night.
Only later did police realize that the van was actually backfiring and the man inside was not armed. He was not injured by the shots fired by police.
